"No!" Madeline stepped back from the goddess, her eyes welled with uncontrollable tears as all the memories returned of what sacrifice had been done. The goddess smiled bitterly, "It has been done, Child. It was the only way."
"Oh mother," Madeline reached for her but halted before she could hug her, unsure whether to hold her. "You did not, oh why would you?".
The goddess spread her arms wide, and Madeline rushed towards her, finding the comfort she had lost for so long. "You can finally be with him, my dear. You can finally save him, and yourself."
"You saved us," Madeline sniffed, hugging her tightly, fearing that she would disappear. "You sacrificed yourself. Why would you?"
Madeline's breath ceased as she watched the moon goddess begin to transition into pure white, most of the white dress clinging to her body beginning to fade. "No!" Madeline held her tightly. "No, do not leave me mother. I need you. I need you."
