Chapter 3 - 2

"Purrr... "

I heard a strange sound as I gained my consciousness back. Intrigued by a pleasant smell, my eyes fluttered before adjusting my blurry visions.

I found myself surrounded by the swaying grass towering over like skyscraper.

I attempted to stand on my feet, confused and skeptical. Stretched my neck to look over and grasp the situation.

I gasped in awe.

Wherever my eyes went it was the sea of grass spread across. Bathed in the golden light of down elegantly dancing with the morning breeze.

My heart thumped like drum in parade.

I jumped on my feet giggling, feeling light but then I suddenly froze.

Where is the rest of my body?

I saw two black furry paws pressed against the ground instead of human hands. It took me a few minutes to process the situation.

Panic surged through me as I frantically surveyed my body.

I tried to speak but the word made me even more stunned.

"Meowww!!?????? "

The realisation sank like Titanic.

Harda cold cold.

I somehow transformed into a Cat!?.

_______

The butterfly fluttered a a few inches above in the air.

I leaped eagerly attempting to catch it but it dove away fitting just out of reach.

It gracefully twirled like performing an aerial ballet, with effortless elegance. Cocky enough to stay beyond my outstretched paws.

So annoying.

I must have looked like black ball tossing around the grass.

This little shit has mesmerized me with its dance, so if I pounce on it, won't be my fault right?

A small weak growl escaped my throat as I pounced at the annoying insect with all my might.

I peeled my squeezed shut eyes a little and found the butterfly pressed under my paws.

I smirked

'Heh! '

I let it go and it flew away.

Suddenly, fanning on my back caught my attention. Thinking it must be another stupid butterfly I turned around.

I shrieked as I came face to face with a majestic creatures, with it's eyes like big black pearls staring back at me. A giant blue butterfly with wings spanning the breadth of a small tree.

Startled, the blood drained down my body, as my demeanor turned to one of awe to sheer of panic.

I bolted away with my legs on my head, never turning my head back.

-----

I reached the edge of a stream of clear water. I haulted my play and looked over the water.

I saw my reflection. My fluffy black coat looked so soft and shiney with two adorable golden eyes staring back at me.

'I am the cutest being in the whole world '

I flicked my whiskers confidently with a smudge smile cockily admiring my new reflection shimmering in the crystal clear water.

I took a few lick, feeling refreshed for the continuation of my playful adventure.

-------

It's already been a week and Life has never been better. I had accepted that I am not a human anymore but a cute little furry feline playing around the wilderness.

I do miss my hands and human food. I think I will never get used to raw meat of small rabbits. I hate mouse. As a cat I am ashamed  but that's how it is.

I mostly eat fruits I find on grounds.  They are sweeter and delicious. I had bitter sweet feeling when I discovered plants that were similar to spices plant that i saw in my previous life.

I ground them on the rock and rub it on my small loaf of meat, but no matter what I do, it doesn't taste good.

I make sure to wash my food in the stream. I have  a human soul after all.

I sleep on a big tree, hidden  in its leafs. I dare not to touch my neighbors birds who doesn't seem to mind me at all.

It's odd that they nod their head everytime they see me. It's like a greetings in animal world.

I once came across a giant bald eagle like creature chasing after me. No matter how fast I tried to run with my tiny legs, eagle was way more faster and soon grasped me in its claws.

I was mentally preparing myself to be ripped open. The giant bird threw me on the bed of cotton and straw, mounted at the top of a giant tree.

The eagle toiled around me and let out screech-ey sound nearly making me faint out of fear., I though it was over for me but it grunted like it was trying to convey something. And suddenly it did that familiar bow in front of me.

I sneaked away, when it went to hunt .

(The eagle looked devastated when it found The Kitten was missing.

*creeeek* 😢)

That day I realized no matter where I go in this wilderness, Nobody seems to hurt me Or eat me.

I make sure to wash it in the stream. I have  a human soul after all.

The more I explore the more I find this place  odd. The animals, birds and insects all here are weird and strange than what I remember as a human.

Last time I came across that giant butterfly, that rare breed that was extinct from earth. And it fluttered majestically before my eyes.

Probably I am in different time line. Though my curiousity bothers me sometimes, but I am too occupied with playing around and surviving as a cat.

It's nothing but a blessing in disguise, I did panicked in the start but I think I like it very much.

Though I cry in the corner sometimes when I think about my siblings and their wellbeing. I want to see them.

But there is no one to bother me Or restrict me . I am happy here more than i was ever there.
