Clack!
With the sound of the shutter, I evaluate the picture that I just took.
Not good.
The lightning was off, there was a distortion and the side of the picture, the art didn't look center and there were many people in the background made the picture atrocious.
I let out a sigh and wandered around inside of Musee Du Louvre to find another art to take a picture. There were many exquisite and ancient arts here.
The Venus de Milo by Alexandros of Antioch,
The Dying Slave by Michelangelo,
The Portrait of a Princess by Pisanello…
Arts. I didn't believe that the the man that was uninterested in art would be here - that was me. Even though I was looking at the arts for about an hour, I was still didn't get to love it.
For me, arts was just a useless work that was made with a high dexterity hand. But, for them, it was the expression of ideas and emotions through a physical medium. Their world was very different from me.
After wandering around for a few minutes, there was an arts that took my attention - A woman with white dress and a huge red cape, bow in front of her king and about to receive a crown from him.
Is that Queen Victoria?
Speaking of Queen Victoria, she was the first person to introduce a white gown for wedding and the people started to make it a tradition in London around 18 century. Many countries had been influenced by that tradition and it lasted until now.
After that, she almost get assassinated eight times but all the attempts were failed. I actually studied a bit about her back in the college.
I approached the art and studied it by reading the information that had been placed in front of it - Joséphine de Beauharnais (1763–1814), is kneeling in a submissive position, as called for in the French Civil Code. She received the crown from the hands of her husband, not the pope. Her robe is decorated with silk, according to a contemporary cartoon by Jean-Francois Bony.
Sadly, I miss judge the the woman. It was not the Queen Victoria but it was another queen.
Without further ado, I adjusted my lens onto the art and Clack. The shutter sound a few times which mean I took the picture a few times with a single shot.
I evaluated some pictures. Fortunately, they came up good. Great lighting, no distortion and least people that made it easy to remove while editing. I continued to look at other pictures.
"Enamored by the art?"
I heard a familiar voice and looked for it which was behind me. There was a grown up woman with Asian face, dark eyes, white skin and black hair while wearing a black Chinese dress with a pair of black high heels. I was stunned for a second.
"Still not."
She approached me. I knew her. I knew who she was.
"You know that, this art was made by Jacques-Louis David, the greatest artist in the 18 century . Its name is The Coronation of Napoleon. The work was commissioned by Napoleon orally in September 1804, and Jacques-Louis David started work on it on 21 December 1805 in the former chapel of the College of Cluny, near the Sorbonne, which served as a workshop. Assisted by his student Georges Rouget, he put the finishing touches in January 1808."
She was my respectful senior during college. The age gap between us were 2 years only. So we made up quite well. We used to be in the same course which was Astrophysics but for some reason, she dropped mid terms and changed to Art Historical. The reason why I respected her, It was because she excels in all exam including the art course. In my opinion, she was the definition of genius.
"You know that, the thing you were talking have been stated here."
I showed her the information statement which was in front of the art using my index finger. And sometimes she was the definition of dumb.
She blushed in shyness.
"But, thanks for the information."
She was standing beside me while I continued reviewing the other pictures that I took since I entered here.
"You said you didn't like art."
I knew what she was about to say.
"But why are you here?"
Should I tell the truth. Maybe, since It will come to me tonight. I don't have anything to lie about.
"I'm just go to my listed place."
"Why now, it's not like you can't go here anytime."
I ignored her while I was continuing the thing I did.
"You always invited me to go to the place that you wanted to. Do you know that the time when we went to haunted house at amusement park, you almost shit your pants. It was funny as hell."
"Hey, I'm not shiting my pants, you are."
We both laughed gently. Well, since we were in the fancy place, so it was inappropriate to laugh loudly.
Ring~ ring~
"Wait I gotta answer this."
She leaved me and went to the area that had less people. I wonder what she talk about?
After a few minutes, she came back.
"Sorry Seungbin but I have to go now."
She gave me a quick bow while I bid her farewell with a nod and smile. It was good actually to meet an old friend.
I was planning on staying here for a while but it was about the closing time. I left the building and found out someone waving at me. It was Saki, the same from earlier.
I responded back with a smile and went to her.
"Do you wanna hit some pub before call it a day?"
It's not a bad idea. I must enjoy this last moment.
"Sure."
She suddenly grabbed my wrist and straight running towards the road. She raised up her hand and a taxi stopped at the road in front of us. We entered the taxi.
"12 Rue Feydeau road please."
The car moved as soon as the driver heard her.
"My friends will be there, do you okay with that?"
"Yeah, I'm good but why we didn't go to Officine du Louvre. It is very close to us."
"That place is too fancy and plus I wanna have fun tonight."
After that, we silenced through our ride. I stared at the window and she did the same too.
We arrived and we got out from the car. I followed her to a place called Truskel. I heard various of sound from they place. Sound like tonight will be fun!
We entered the pub and as I thought, it was very crowded here with a bunch of colors light dancing in the pub. Mei grabbed my right hand and we went to the bartender.
"What do you want, couples?"
"Give us your strongest one."
Wait, is she actually want us to get drunk fast?
"Okay, it'll be serve soon."
There were chairs and we sat. I was staring in reverie on the table before she starting the conversation.
"Seungbin, tell me something about you."
"Like what?"
"Like your life after college."
My life after college? Well, I was jobless right now with my Astrophysics big D. Went into bunch of interviews but failed.
I guessed I should not like.
"I'm jobless."
"Wait, seriously?"
"Don't have reason to lie."
Before she about to speak, the bartender gave us our drinks.
"Here you go."
Thank god the bartender, I actually didn't want to talk about this so much.
I took the drink and headed my drink onto her.
"Let's just stop talking about the past and start talking about the present, cheers?"
I was waiting for a cheers.
She took the drink and hit my glass with hers and made a glass sound.
"Cheers."
We quickly drank the small cup of strong alcohol and hit the glass onto table after finish.

3:45 A.M
I sat at the wooden chair while editing my photos that I took at the Musee Du Louvre in my hotel room. My room were dark but I used the lamp that was on the table. I looked at the clock on my laptop.
Around 15 minutes left.
It was funny to think that I was getting drunk the hours ago but now I was sober now. It was due to me thinking that I will be die tonight.
I didn't remember much what happened at the pub but there were some memory that were vivid in my mind
We were drunk.
We were dancing.
We were kissing?
Remembering that made me felt weird that I kissed my best friend.
I think it's normal occasionally. But, It's not like I like her as a woman or something.
Suddenly, I felt like many eyes were staring at me from the shadow. So this it is?
This is how the felt like, right?
I looked at the clock again on my laptop. 4:00 A.M.
It's time now.
I heard the wind blew strongly that made the balcony door opened and the curtains dancing with the wind.
I tried to look at it from my chair but I couldn't move my head-no! I couldn't move a single inch of my body.
Shit, it's happening!
Suddenly, I started to bang my head onto the table. On the first bang, my head started to have a headache. On the second bang, I could feel the liquid flowing on my forehead.
It's blood?
On the third bang, my head started to get attacked by pain. My head continually banging on its own. I couldn't control my body!
Hurt… It hurts so much!
I started to lose conscious. Shit, this is how I die today?
My head continued to bang, my vision started to be fill with crimson red. It's blood…. IT'S BLOOD!
I slowly to get my head up from the table and so much blood splashed from my face. I could feel it.
Mom, dad and Liu Mei, please, forgive me for everything.
And with that, I ended my life with a bang.
