Chereads / When Snowdrop Blooms / Chapter 3 - Andrew Faith

Chapter 3 - Andrew Faith

The sound of shoes resonated as the new guy walked in.

One of the female students let out a loud gasp,

A handsome tall guy stood in front of the class.

The students started to whisper as Gigi excitedly clapped her hands, gaining the student's attention.

"This is our new transfer student. Gentleman, I am your new homeroom teacher, and this is your classmate, please introduce yourself."

His face was expressionless and he nodded slightly.

"I'm Andrew Faith, let's get along well."

Andrew's deep voice instantly made the girls fall for him.

"Wonderful! You can sit," Gigi looked at the class and tried to find a seat for Andrew.

"Ha- you can sit next to Charlie. Charlie, can you stand up?"

Charlie stood up.

Andrew gazed at Charlie and walked towards him.

Charlie felt intimidated by Andrew due to the size difference.

He sat next to Andrew and said,

"Hello, I am Charlie."

He offered his hand for a handshake, but in reply, Andrew looked straight and just gave a nod. Charlie felt awkward and retrieved his hand.

The teacher continued the class. Moments later, Noah threw a paper ball at Charlie and it accidentally landed on Andrew.

Andrew picked up the paper ball and unfolded it.

"Come to the rooftop after class." Before Andrew could react, Charlie snatched the paper and said,

"Sorry, it's for me."

Charlie then gazed at Noah who had a bland expression.

Noah didn't like Andrew. It was all written on his face.

Soon, the class ended, and the students filed out one by one,

"Charlie and Andrew," Gigi called.

She walked up to them and said, "Charlie, Andrew is new here. Can you help him get acquainted with the school?" Gigi requested.

Charlie didn't know how to react. He had to go to the rooftop to meet Noah. If he didn't do that, Noah would use it as his new excuse to bully him.

Andrew sensed the reason behind Charlie's silence and said,

"It's okay, teacher. I will find my way."

Charlie heard Andrew's words and felt relieved, but Gigi was not okay with that.

"No, Charlie, it's not okay to prefer to be alone at your age. Andrew is new here. You two can be friends. Maybe that will turn out to be the greatest friendship in both of your lives."

Charlie didn't want to make a bad impression on his new teacher, so he agreed.

The two walked around, and Charlie explained everything to Andrew.

"If you want to go, then you can go. I won't tell the teacher." Andrew said out of the blue.

"What?"

"I said you can go where you want." Andrew stopped his pace and looked at Charlie.

This is when Charlie saw Andrew, face to face.

His face was like a work of art, with soft, wavy hair framing coffee-brown eyes. He has a warm skin tone and naturally full and well-defined lips. And so tall.

Charlie is about 5'7, which is the average height for a male, but Andrew is around 6'2 and he is just 18.

"Are you listening, Charlie?"

Charlie was snapped out of his admiration.

"Is it really okay? Can I go?"

"Yes, please," Andrew said.

Charlie gave him a grateful smile and ran to the rooftop.

Andrew watched the guy run to the rooftop as if it was his life on it.

When Charlie got to the top of the rooftop, there was nobody.

Suddenly somebody grabbed his hair from his back. Charlie wince in pain.

"Where the hell were you moron?" it was Noah.

"The teacher told me to show the new guy around."

Noah pushed him and some of Noah's friends came.

"Did you start the show already, Noah?"

One of the guys said and walked towards Charlie and grabbed his collar.

"Long time no see, Fletcher."

He threw Charlie to the ground.

"Don't get him bleed on the first day of the new semester. We have plenty of time for that. Look for money in his pockets." another guy said,

The guy checked his pocket and took Charlie's money.

"That's mine." Charlie protested.

"Well, now it's mine." With that, Noah's friends left. Meanwhile, Noah stood there without saying anything.

Charlie looked at him with tears and asked,

"Why are you hurting me? What did I ever do to you?"

Noah stared at him blankly without saying anything and soon, he also left.

Charlie wiped his tears and muttered to himself,

"I'm a coward. A worthless piece of shit."

"Why don't you react?" Charlie heard a deep voice and turned around,

"Andrew?"

He jogged up to him and crouched at Charlie's eye level.

"Here." Andrew gave him a tissue to wipe his tears and helped him stand up.

"How long have you been here? Did you follow me?"

"Not too long. Also, why would I ever follow you in the first place? I was exploring the school and ended up at the rooftop, where I saw all this drama."

"Oh."

"Is that your bullies?"

Charlie didn't answer.

"You should complain to the teacher."

"Do you feel pity?"

Andrew heard Charlie's question.

Pity? Is that pity?

"No."

"Then why are you here? I know you didn't accidentally end up on the rooftop."

"So, you have a tongue. It's just you don't want to use it on the right people?"

Andrew said and walked away.

"What? What do you mean?"

Charlie asked, as he saw Andrew's figure walking away.

What a confusing guy, Charlie thought.

After school, Charlie strolled to his home.

"I'm home," Charlie said, and walked in.

"How was your day, son?" His mother Charlotte asked.

"Not bad," Charlie replied.

"You know, your nana called in the morning after you left for school," Charlotte said, gaining Charlie's attention.

"Why?"

"Well, she wants to see all of us. She is getting old, right? Maybe that's why. Your father will be here soon, so get ready, okay?"

Charlotte said, and went to her room to get ready,

Charlie went upstairs to his room and lay on the bed. He stared at the ceiling blankly,

"Why are you doing this to me, Noah?" Charlie whispered. Suddenly, Andrew's face rushed to his mind.

"He is so handsome but also looks so dangerous." With that, he slowly closed his eyes and decided to take a slight nap before going to meet his nana.

To be continued...
