"Hard times don't create heroes. It is during the hard times when the 'hero' within us is revealed."

Eli Jang and Warren Chae stood silently, their eyes fixed on the unpredictable and unhinged Olly Wang. The streets were quiet, the air heavy with tension as Olly slowly got up and suddenly sprinted toward them, his voice loud and mocking, echoing off the empty buildings.
"Do you really think you can take me down?! I'm Olly Wang! Hostel belongs to me! You're just worthless fodder!"
Eli remained calm, his grip on his batons steady. Warren, beside him, was equally composed, but they both knew Olly was a ticking time bomb. The crazed energy in his movements only made the situation more volatile.
Suddenly, Olly stopped dead in his tracks, the wild glint in his eyes intensifying. His tone shifted, dark and menacing. "You know, Eli…" he began, his voice lowering to a taunting whisper. "Do you ever wonder what really happened to Heather?"
Eli's heart skipped a beat. His grip on the batons tightened, the mention of Heather's name sending a chill through him. He clenched his jaw but said nothing, his eyes never leaving Olly.
Olly's grin grew even wider as he took a step closer, circling Eli like a predator playing with its prey. "All this time… you've been in the dark. You never figured it out, did you?"
The weight of Olly's words hung in the air, and Eli's chest tightened. He didn't want to hear it. But he knew Olly wasn't going to stop.
"I was the one who messaged Heather to get that abortion," Olly spat, laughing maniacally. "I impersonated you! She thought it was you who wanted her to do it! Can you imagine the look on her face?"
Eli's world stopped.
His eyes widened, his breath hitched, and the batons slipped from his fingers, clattering to the ground. Olly's confession echoed in his mind, the weight of it crashing down on him like a tidal wave. His heart raced, his vision blurring with rage and disbelief.
Olly continued laughing, enjoying the torment he was inflicting. "You never knew! I made her hate you, and it worked like a charm. All your guilt? All your pain? That was me, Eli. All me!"
The raw, seething rage that had been simmering within Eli exploded. His green-glowing eyes, the sign of his animal instincts, flared to life.
His muscles tensed, and before he could even think, his body moved on its own. A primal, uncontrollable fury surged through him, and in an instant, Eli lunged at Olly with a murderous intent.
Olly barely had time to react before Eli was on him, his eyes wild and glowing with an otherworldly green hue. Eli's animal instincts had fully taken over, and he was moving at a speed that surpassed anything Olly had ever seen. Eli was going to kill him.
But before Eli could land the fatal blow, Warren moved.
In a flash, Warren grabbed Eli by the arm, stopping his attack just inches from Olly's throat. The force of Warren's grip sent shockwaves through Eli's body, but it wasn't enough to snap him out of his rage.
"Eli! Stop!" Warren growled, his voice firm but calm, his eyes glowing red, the mark of his strength mastery. His grip tightened on Eli's arm, but Eli wasn't hearing him. His mind was clouded with fury, his entire body trembling with the need for revenge.
"Get out of my way, Warren!" Eli snarled, his voice low and feral, his eyes still locked on Olly.
Warren didn't flinch. "No, Eli. Killing him won't bring Heather back."
"He ruined everything!" Eli roared, struggling against Warren's grip. "He ruined her life, he ruined mine! I can't just let him get away with this!"
Warren's expression remained calm, though his grip on Eli tightened. "I know, Eli. But you can't let him take your future too. Killing him won't fix anything."
Eli's breathing was ragged, his heart pounding in his chest. His mind was clouded with thoughts of revenge, of all the pain he had been carrying for so long. Olly's words echoed in his mind, and the rage inside him only grew. He needed to make Olly pay.
"Move!" Eli roared, his body surging with power as he broke free of Warren's grip and flipped him upside down in a blur of motion.
For a split second, Warren's body was mid-air, his feet over his head, but Warren reacted immediately. His eyes narrowed, glowing with the power of his conviction as he adjusted his body mid-air.
Using his mastery of CQC and JKD, Warren launched a series of precise strikes, aiming for Eli's pressure points. Even upside down, Warren's movements were calculated, his strikes fast and deadly as he aimed to incapacitate Eli before he could do any more damage.
But Eli was not inferior.
With his animal instincts fully activated, Eli deflected Warren's attacks with incredible speed. His body moved like a blur, each of Warren's strikes narrowly missing as Eli twisted and dodged. The glow in Eli's eyes intensified as he focused entirely on stopping Warren.
Warren, however, wasn't giving up. He gritted his teeth, his body tensing with determination as he aimed one final strike, a punch that could break through Eli's defenses.
And this time, it landed.
Warren's fist connected with Eli's chest, the impact sending a shockwave through the air. The force of the punch pushed Eli back, causing him to slide across the ground, his feet digging into the pavement as he struggled to stay upright.
For a moment, there was silence.
Eli's chest heaved as he caught his breath, his eyes locked on Warren, who landed and took his stance: "Wake up Eli!" He shouted.
Eli eyes widened in shock as he caught his breath, his mind momentarily clearing. Warren's punch had broken through the haze of his rage, bringing him back to the present.
Silence fell between them as Eli stood still, his chest heaving, his eyes still glowing faintly. He wiped the blood from his mouth, his expression caught between rage and confusion.
Warren relaxed, his posture returning to normal, the glow on his eyes fading as he watched Eli carefully. He wasn't sure if the fight was over yet, but he was ready if Eli lost control again.
"Eli," Warren said softly, his voice calm but firm.
For a moment, Eli said nothing. His eyes flickered between Warren and Olly, who was still cowering behind them, his grin gone. The anger still burned in Eli's chest, but Warren's words slowly began to sink in.
Eli clenched his fists, his jaw tight. He wasn't ready to forgive. He wasn't sure he ever would be. But for now, the fight was over.
