Dumbfounded by her client request Luna perched on the edge of the chair, her baby blues gazed at the sophisticated middle aged woman.
"That's not how I roll, I like to just engage with the suspect and get down to it." She said with indifference as she sipped her iced coffee.
The client, Mrs Carlie Constatine shifted uncomfortably in the chair and spoke impatiently "I'll give you $100,000 more if you take the job." Smiling like she was offering manna from heaven.
Shay dropped the box of cards she had been shuffling "She'll take the job, there is no question about that." Interrupting a conversation that she had been eavesdropping on.
"Uhm, I'll think about it but I can't promise if I'll take it." Luna already had alot going on in her personal life.
She was supposed to catch a flight as soon as possible to meet Logan at the Pineapple Bay Island in Africa for a relaxing getaway, taking this job meant that she would be late by a day.
When the client left, Shay notified her that she had been rejecting alot of jobs lately something that would infuriate the black mamba.
"Am suprised Don has not complained yet about your reluctance these days, your not making money." She blinked rapidly as he walked in "speaking of the devil."
He was wearing a navy blue suit with black shoes, with a smile patched on his face, Don handed her the gardenias he was carefully holding.
"What are these for? Aren't you supposed to reprimand me for slacking on the job? Isn't the almighty boss mad yet?"
His smile became creepier while assuring her that apparently the big boss had given his approval to her to work at her own terms. "We are in a state of financial freedom, you can do as you please, just make sure that you meet the threshold of $200,000 a month."
Shay seemed baffled at the news "Does this apply to all of us or just the witch." She blurted out unintentionally.
"You Ms Moore are to remain performing your duties as initially stated in your contract." His voice was very formal and unfriendly
Luna laughed at Shay's reaction to the news, she had pulled her shoulders back to accentuate her curves as if to seduce Don who kept stealing glances at her big rounded boobs.
"So what's the deal with you two?" She curiously asked as Don sped off when he noticed her smiling at him knowingly.
"Ha, he's mad that I refused to open the cookie jar." Pointing her index finger at her pussy area
Laughing it off, Shay asked if Luna was taking the job.
"Her demands are ridiculous, am supposed to ask friendly questions at her suspect so as not to cause chaos at their family dinner.
Shay demanded to tag along "That family is known for cooking the best food in this city. They own all the Pretoria Hotels around the world."
With a single nod, Luna informed her that she was well aware of that. She always went with the Robinsons to attend the Constatines prestigious social gatherings.
Shay's eyes flew open and smiled at Rowena who was almost invisible "wow, Rowena your faster than a cheetah, you've done your research already?" She gave her a thumbs up.
Just as Rowena was about to clear the air Luna jumped in and spoke " She's very capable, isn't she?" Winking at Rowena to take the credit.
Rowena smiled back gratefully wondering why she had been ordered to spy on her boss yet she seemed harmless and tolerant.
On their way to the Constatine Mansion, Luna called Logan and let him in the know that she would be arriving later than when she had told him.
"That's okay magic, I have some business to take care of anyway." He sounded somewhat pleased over the news, she hung up however her thoughts were running wild wondering what he was upto.
They pulled up to the front grand door, there wealth was impressive but it wasn't even half of that of the Robinsons.
"Here we are!"Shay exclaimed as her stomach growled.
She explained that she had not eaten anything the entire day preparing herself to devour the delicious meals at the Constatine house.
The old butler who looked weary led them to the lounge and requested them to wait so that he could announce their arrival while a maid walked to them with glasses of water.
After waiting a few minutes, he came back and asked them to follow him.
Mrs Carlie was the only one that stood to welcoming them to the already set dinning table, the rest of the family members remained sitted probably because it was their family dinning etiquette.
Mr Constatine who was already famished expressed his dismay as to why his wife had to invite her long lost relatives to an intimate family dinner.
Pointing an index finger at herself because she was puzzled, Luna remembered that her client's condition was to maintain the peace.
Her curious eyes landed on Bayley Samuel's.
She was an old classmate that had led to her expulsion during high-school just because the high school football captain liked her.
She fabricated lies that she had bullied her something that was against the school rules.
"I intentionally lied Matthew" She bluntly admitted to her husband who was about to put a spoonful of spicy Italian spaghetti in his mouth.
He dropped it back on the wilder dinner plate and ordered her to explain herself.
"These are not my relatives, this is the famous faceless white whitch." She haughtyly announced pushing her shoulders back.
The remaining family members gasped in horror, the reputation of the white witch was quite popular among the rich although a few knew what she looked like.
"You're wife believes that you're supposed illegitmate daughter is not who she claims to be." Indeed she wasn't Luna knew that already because she knew who Bayley's parents were.
Mathew angrily stood up and stomped his foot before barking "What? I showed you the DNA results that you demanded for, so what are you playing at?"
"Please can we eat first." Shay pleaded because she was as hungry as a starved horse.
They all glared at her so she shrunk into the chair immediately
"She's a fake. What I want to know is why?" Luna intentionally spoke attracting the attention of the whole room
"Oh please cut the crap! Witch my ass." Bayley blurted out unbothered about the consequences of her words
Mathew was gesturing her to shut her mouth, however Bayley rolled her eyes at him. When Luna was good at reading people and these fools were making it too easy for her.
She immediately knew that something else was definitely going on between them. 'Were they probably lovers?'
"Something is definitely going on between your husband and the young woman." She told Carlie who was ready to attack her husband forgetting her own terms to maintain serenity.
"What the hell is she talking about, Mathew spill it." Carlie screamed at him.
"Are you lovers perhaps" It was more of a statement than a question.
Mathew gasped and vehemently denied "What? No!" while Bayley answered heartily "yes"
Nodding her head while dragging Shay from her seat so they could leave Luna murmured under her breath "case closed."
