Chapter 12 - The Questioning

"That is Preposterous!!" Lady Elena MacQuiod exclaimed furiously, "Is this why you gathered the three of us? To question us of a missing...nobody?!"

Kekoa faced the middle-aged woman and her daughter who sat close to her, gently patting her mother's legs to calm her down, "Mother, I'm sure this person must be important to them," Reine said calmly.

"Theodore asked me to talk to the three families. Maybe...one of you might be aware of her whereabouts? She was kidnapped at the party, only a few minutes ago," Kekoa tried her hardest to remain placid, keeping the gentle smile on her face.

"I Know nothing about this!" Lord Connor Adam said, his arms folded with an angry look in his eyes, "Of all the people present at this party, you thought one of us could have done this? I'm disappointed to see just how low you think of the Adam Family, and I am leaving this party as soon as I get the chance,"

His wife who was next to him hissed at Kekoa, and both husband and wife rolled their eyes.

Next, Kekoa faced the last family, "Lord and Lady Macbeth?"

"I'm speechless," Macbeth shook her head in disbelief, "Oliver, can you believe this?" She referred to her son who was right next to his father.

Oliver had this laid-back expression in his eyes, "I just need another drink. All of this is stupid. Why are we still listening to this?"

"We have no hand in whatever you may be accusing us of! And I will not tolerate any more of this nonsense," Lord Macbeth pushed himself to his feet, his fingers pointed at Kekoa with a warning.

And that was it. Kekoa was done holding everything inside and being patient. It was high time she made them understand who was this boss, and why they even existed in the first place. All form of courtesy was thrown out of the window, and her aura flooded the room in mere seconds.

Macbeth didn't realize when he became humbled and lowered himself back to his seat.

"We did not do anything!" Henry, Son of the Adam family expelled, trying to scoot closer to his father.

"How sure are you about that?" Kekoa's heartless tone made them tremble, "What makes you think I believe a word any of you have been saying?!"

"Don't scare off their growing wings, Kekoa," Theodore smiled softly as he walked into the room, making everyone even more uncomfortable.

They all knew who Theodore was, and whoever the culprit was already knew he had screwed up big time. The fear this man could instill in someone's mind with a simple look was baffling, and his every movement spoke of many things they were not ready to know.

"I've been lenient for so very long. That was why they began growing wings in the first place!" Kekoa replied.

"Would you like to continue, or shall I take over?" Theodore inquired.

"I'm glad you're here. You'll find the culprit faster," Kekoa answered, confident in her words. Now that Theodore was here, all she needed to do was relax and watch him do what he always does.

Perform Miracles.

"Who Kidnapped her?" The smile on his face had disappeared, and his smoldering gaze wandered between each and every one of them in the room.

When they refused to talk, he began to move.

Everyone's blood ran cold, and you could almost hear their hearts about to explode out of their cage. They shivered and curled from his every step, lips trembling and lashes glued to the floor.

Then, he stopped in front of Lady Reine, "Where is she?" He demanded fluidly, his voice echoing with calmness and menace.

Reine forced herself to look up at him, "I did no such thing!"

"Macbeth! Speak,"

Oliver flinched.

"Don't you accuse us of such a thing!" Lord Macbeth raged out.

Theo sent a glare his way, and Macbeth internally zipped his mouth shut and didn't even dare to breathe again.

"Where are you holding her? Oliver, and Reine?"

Reine was visibly shaking, clutching her dress, "I swear, I have no hand in...," Her heart flew to her throat when Theo suddenly grabbed her face and forced her to look at him. Everyone else in the room kept their heads lowered in fear and Respect.

"I won't ask for the third time," Theo warned, "And I do not appreciate you being quiet, Oliver."

Oliver sucked in a breath, not even realizing how much sweat was rolling down his forehead. He stammered with every word, "I...I...,"

"It was all Oliver's idea!" Reine confessed with a scream, tears running down her eyes. Staring into Theo's eyes had completely shattered her defenses, and she's never felt so vulnerable and little in front of anyone before.

And the man's eyes...were just too dark for her to bear.

His glasses did nothing to reduce the weight of his gaze.

"Have mercy on me!" Oliver's mouth was dry.

He heard Theo move closer and stopped in front of him.

"She's...I made them throw her in there," He continued.

"Where?" Kekoa groaned.

Oliver swallowed tightly, "The...Hollow. Hollow Copse,"

The silence that hit the room was loud. Even Theo was just as rattled as the rest of them were.

"The what?" Kekoa's eyes were about to pop out, "Oh my God, oh my Goodness, what have you done?!" She lashed at him, spitting fire from her emerald eyes.

The Hollow was a Forest and was named that because of its terrible history with anyone who has ever stepped foot inside of it. No one even dared to wander close to the place, because it was said to draw in victims with sweet voices and lullabies.

The Hollow...was unsurvivable.

And the Darkest thing about it was that no one knew what lurked in its abode.

And everyone that has ever stepped foot in it was never heard from again, instead, the forest would spit out their remains as bones. It remained the biggest mystery of this country.

Country Olympia.

"She's gone," Kekoa said to herself.

Theodore said nothing.

"Oliver, Reine. We are going to head to the entrance of the Hollow and see if we can find her. Your punishment comes next!" Kekoa deadpanned.
