Chapter 8 - Chapter 7: Negotiations and Diplomacy

While preparing for the invasion of the Soviet Union, Germany also sought to ensure stability in other parts of Europe and the world. Negotiations were held with Hungary, Slovakia, and Transylvania to secure their support and cooperation in the war.

Hungary and Slovakia, eager to expand their territories and strengthen their positions in Europe, agreed to join the German cause. Territorial and strategic agreements were reached that benefited both parties, ensuring the collaboration of these countries in the future invasion of the Soviet Union.

Transylvania, for its part, was reluctant at first, but eventually agreed to join the Axis after receiving guarantees of security and autonomy in its territory.

In addition to negotiations in Europe, Germany also sought to end the war in the Far East. Hitler offered his help to Japan to end the conflict with China and establish peace in the region. In exchange, Japan would agree to respect German interests in Asia and guarantee its support in the event of a confrontation with the Western powers.

In a secret agreement between Germany and Japan, it was agreed that when Germany went to war with the Soviet Union, Japan would agree to help with the invasion from Siberia, thus opening a second front and increasing pressure on the Soviets.

These negotiations and agreements marked a significant shift in the global balance of power and set the stage for events that would follow on the Eastern Front and in the Far East.
