Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Whisper

"And nothing, nobody here," our protagonist sighed, casting a weary gaze into the abyss of darkness beyond.

His eyes strained, adjusting to the void until, gradually, the shadows began to yield to his newfound ability.

An uncanny vision emerged, allowing him to pierce through the veil of night with remarkable clarity.

It was a revelation that left him astonished; the mere acquisition of the Eternal Mortal Physique had granted him a myriad of extraordinary abilities.

"System, give me my character information status," he requested, his voice tinged with anticipation. Yet, as before, the system remained silent, withholding its response.

Despite this, a list of details materialized before his eyes in response to his query.

"DING!"

Host: Riley Wright

Constitution: Eternal Mortal Physique

The list was succinct, yet it sufficed to reassure our protagonist. With his identity confirmed and his extraordinary physique at his disposal, he felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

He found himself growing accustomed to the peculiarities of his new existence. It was almost routine now to encounter strange coincidences like sharing the same name with the body he now inhabited.

Delving into the recesses of his memories, Riley searched for any traces of what might have transpired with the original soul of this vessel.

Is he dead now? Or had they exchanged bodies, and was that man already back on Earth using his own loser body as well?

Yet, as he sifted through the fragments of his past, he found no answers, no clues to illuminate the mystery.

It was as if the previous occupant had simply faded away into the depths of oblivion, leaving behind only echoes of their existence.

He pondered the implications of this for a fleeting moment, a sense of unease flickering across his consciousness.

But soon, the pressing concerns of his new reality demanded his attention, and the questions that had momentarily troubled him faded into the background.

With a nonchalant shake of his head, Riley brushed aside these lingering doubts. After all, dwelling on the fate of the previous inhabitant served little purpose in the grand tapestry of his current journey.

There were more pressing matters to attend to, more immediate challenges to overcome.

And so, with a determined resolve, he set aside the mysteries of the past and turned his focus toward the uncertain path that lay ahead.

"..." Riley traversed the familiar path in silence, the soft rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds serving as the only companions to his introspective journey.

With each step, memories of his past mistakes resurfaced, haunting him like specters of regret.

It was a big mistake, one that had shattered his sense of self and fractured the bonds of trust with those closest to him.

The weight of shame hung heavy on his shoulders, driving him to seek solace in the solitude of nature.

As he walked, his mind drifted back to the events that had led him here. It had been a moment of weakness, a lapse in judgment that had irrevocably altered the course of his life.

Faced with the consequences of his actions, Riley had felt the crushing weight of disappointment bear down upon him, driving him to retreat into himself in search of redemption.

And so, he had packed his belongings in quiet resignation and set out for one of his family's farms, seeking refuge amidst the sprawling fields and rolling hills.

Here, in the embrace of nature, he hoped to find the clarity and perspective he so desperately sought, to untangle the knots of confusion that had ensnared his mind.

As he walked, lost in thought, Riley's gaze fell upon a lone figure of a dead familiar ghost; its posture slumped with the weight of their own burdens.

"Poor fellow," he murmured softly, a pang of empathy tugging at his heartstrings. In that moment, he recognized a kindred spirit, another soul grappling with the complexities of life and the sting of defeat.

It was a sobering realization, a reminder that the struggle against adversity was a universal experience, transcending the boundaries of time and space.

And as Riley continued on his solitary journey, he carried with him the knowledge that in the vast tapestry of existence, no one walked alone in their trials and tribulations.

"Hehehe. Don't worry, poor Riley. I'll live a big enough life for the two of us," our protagonist promised, his voice tinged with playful reassurance.

It was a vow uttered with genuine affection, a testament to the bond that had formed between them on this extraordinary journey.

As the first rays of the sun painted the sky with hues of orange and gold, Riley's journey brought him to the threshold of a modest-sized city.

It was a familiar sight, a beacon of civilization amidst the vast expanse of the unknown. Here, amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life, he found solace in the promise of a fresh start.

This city, with its labyrinthine streets and towering skyscrapers, held the key to a new chapter in Riley's life.

It was to be his home in this unfamiliar world, a sanctuary where he could begin his immortal journey with renewed vigor and purpose.

And as he stood at the city's gates, he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation stirring within him.

With each passing moment, the weight of his past mistakes seemed to grow lighter, replaced by a burgeoning sense of optimism for the future. Here, amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, Riley saw endless possibilities stretching out before him like threads of fate waiting to be woven into the tapestry of his destiny.

As he ventured deeper into the heart of the city, Riley couldn't help but marvel at the kaleidoscope of sights and sounds that surrounded him.

From the vibrant markets teeming with life to the tranquil parks that offered respite from the chaos of the streets, every corner seemed to whisper tales of adventure and opportunity.

But alas, the familiar whispered voices of ridicule could not evade his senses.
