"Who am I?", the young girl whispered to herself. She had woken up in a dark cave alone. Her long brunette hair was tangled and covered in mud with bits of leaves and brush. There were cuts and scratches all over her hands and feet like she had dragged herself into this temporary shelter. Had she arrived alone? Was someone looking for her? She woke up knowing that she needed to get to somewhere but was unsure of where that somewhere was. How did she get here? Deep down she knew that this was a place she was not supossed to be and she was sure that this place was not where she was intending on going. Maybe is she saw her reflection it would jar her memory. The young woman slowly tried to find her footing and started walking towards the entrance of the cave hoping that she was indeed as alone as she thought she was. As she staggered onto her feet she slowly began walking towards the entrance making sure to keep as silent as possible. Her eyes burned and she blinked rapidly as she stepped out into the fresh morning air. Running her eyes she looked around and there was nothing but forest for miles in each direction. She listened and it seemed like it what just her and the wildlife but faintly she heard the sound of running water. Could she be near a stream or river? Checking her person she saw that her teal blue gown was torn splatter with blood and she was wearing one slipper. Burrs and thistle were stuck to the tattered ends of her gown. Or was like she was plucked from her bed in the middle of the night. She had no belongings other then the meager clothing she had on. Looking at her hands in the light she noticed her fingernails had earth underneath them. Mud was dried and coated the bottom of her dress like she had been running through the brush blindly. She was so desperate to piece together what happened she began advancing towards the sound of the running water. After about 10 minutes of walking she finally found the source of water up ahead, a small river was navigating through a narrow clearing in the thick forest. When finally reaching the rivers edge she knelt down and slowly peered down taking in her state. Large almond shaped eye flecked with gold and green stared back at her. She had a busted lip and a bruise on her high cheek bones. Picking up some water she washed her face patting it dry with the cleanest scrap of material she could could rip from the gown. Peering at herself one more time she sighed and spoke out loud in barely a whisper and said , " Tilly, what did you get yourself in to?"
