Kellen burst into his Dad's room to find his Dad holding onto his Mom's arm, and Casper trying to calm her down from the other side. The newer Guide was tucked into the corner in a chair, watching everything with rather large eyes while a few Espers lingered in the room, obviously having been told to remain back.
"Don't even think about it." Kellen barked as he stepped into the room. His Mom's eyes were glowing bright purple as she snapped her head towards him.
"You do not get to order me around like that." She responded back, and Kellen knew that whoever he was talking to, wasn't fully his Mom. He wasn't upset. At least, not about that. His Mom was overwhelmed, overtired, probably hadn't been guided properly, and had just found out that her husband not only had been targeted, but would continue to be targeted until he was dead
Kellen wondered only briefly how Rhys was doing, before shaking himself and glaring at his Mother.
