"W-Why would I ever do that?" Kellen stuttered, and the Captain grinned at him. He shrugged, his eyes warm and yellow, and Kellen had to look away from his face.
The elevator opened, and the two of them headed down the hallway that connected the two sets of elevators. Kellen was distracted by his own thoughts, so he jumped nearly a foot when someone slammed on the glass window beside them.
Turning, Kellen was met with the hard expression of his sister. She had her face pressed against the glass, and it was clear she had been looking for him. Even Gunther, who seemed exasperated by her display, wasn't chastising her. She pointed towards the door, and Kellen winced.
Swallowing, Kellen turned and without glancing at the Captain, headed for the door. Out of pettiness, Gwen didn't even open the door, just stood next to it with her arms crossed.
