Chereads / Adam The All-Father / Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

As the sun broke over the horizon, casting its golden glow upon the garden, I awoke to Lilith shaking me. It has been over a month since the problem with Butchex and we had made it through just fine.

"What is it?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes.

"God has returned and he brought someone with him." She responed as I sighed and got up as I headed out the cave.

God, in all his divine glory, stood before us with a solemn expression, next to him was a woman, She was the exact opposite of Lillith. Blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin and.... hold on am I missing a rib?

"Hello Adam. So it has come to my attention that Lilith here refuses to submit to you."

"Yeah so what of it, It is her choice. We agreed to start off as friends and see where our relationship takes us." I responded.

"I see." God motioned to the woman." This here is, Eve. She is going to be your new wife, Lilith is banished from the Garden."

"I'm sorry, what?!" Lillith yelled, my eyes met Lilith's, and in that moment, I saw defiance tempered with rage. . That isn't fai-"

"Silence!" God boomed as Lilith stepped behind me. Without hesitation, I reached for her hand, to try and calm her down.

"I don't care if you take Eve back with you or leave her here, Lilith will be staying here." I spoke, fury surged within me, how dare he try and ruin everything!

God raised his hand and dropped an apple, bitten, I knew that it was from one of the forbidden fruits. Impossiable, Lilith was with me at all times and now God was trying to frame her? Was there another angel who saw what I did, or did Butchex survive.

"Lilith here had ate the forbidden fruit, and your pet... well he killed one of my angels that was visiting to check up on the garden, so I killed him.

He killed Kovu.... why? I was the one that killed the angel, was he trying to tell me a message?

"Lilith will be staying here, I won't change my mind. I don't care what you want, she has been a great help.

God regarded me with a gaze that pierced to the core of my being, yet I stood firm, unyielding in my resolve. After a moment's contemplation, he relented.

"Fine, Lilith will stay, as your servant and Eve will replace her as your wife." With a final glance, he departed, leaving Eve behind.

Turning to face them, I felt the weight of the decision that lay before me. Eve, with her beguiling presence, awaited my judgment, while Lilith, my steadfast companion, stood beside me, her expression a blend of defiance and vulnerability.

"Lilith," I said softly, my voice carrying the weight of uncertainty and determination, "I need to go check up on Kovu, burry whatever remained. Can you get Eve settled in?"

Her eyes met mine, a flicker of sorrow shadowing their depths. "Yeah I can," she nodded, her voice a whisper carried on the breeze. "Thank you, for standing up for me."

"We are friends, I won't abandon my friends." I responded gently, getting some things ready just incase I found him.

A bitter smile touched her lips as she spoke, her words laced with regret. "You should be careful not to piss him off. I would hate to see you get hurt."

"Lilith," I began, my voice steady yet laden with conflict, "I was given the tast to take care of all that is mine, this garden, the animals and plants that live in it. You who god gave as my first wife and now Eve, who he gave as my second," I turned to face the woman who stood as Lilith's replacement, "You are new, and I will be honest to say I don't trust you yet, but you are under my care and I will protect you just the same."

"Will you ever choose any of us?" Eve asked nervously.

"I will never choose one over the other," I declared, my voice ringing with conviction, "for you are your own person, you have the will to make your own free choices And do what you wish. As I said, as long as youl remain by my side, I shall work hard to give you a good life and protect you with my life."

As I finnished packing, I left to go to wear Kovu lived. He shouldn't be far, I really hoped he wasn't dead, but when I arrived at his cave I collapsed to the ground as I saw that Kovu was lying on the floor, his eyes glossy and flies all over his body. His mouth was still in a sneer baring his fangs.

A deep cut ran from his jaw to his gut. Leaving his innards to spill out. He had many smaller wounds and he had bleed out, soaking the cavern floor. There was a heavy scent of decay, he must have been dead quite a while.

After everything I went through, after so many years alive. I felt a tear roll down my face as I broke down.

<------------------>

When I returned home I was covered in blood and limping as I just was zoned out wondering what I could have done different to have saved him, what I could do....

"Adam!" Lilith yelled when she saw me, "What happened, what is all this blood!"

"Kovu is dead, God left his body in his cave to rot in the most disrespectful way. It looked like he died fighting and God didn't go easy on him." I mutter. "I burried him on the cliff under the sakura tree, he really loved that tree..."

I couldn't hold it in as I hugged Lilith and sobbed. Lilith also cried, she and Kovu were alot closer. She really cared for him like I did.

"I'm going to do it..." I mutter hickcuping slightly.

"W-what? Lilith stammered slightly. "What are you going to do?"

"I will kill God, I don't care how long it takes, I will kill him and make sure that he never returns and ruins the lives of any other human." I squeezed Lilith once more as I walked into the cave, my anger now rage and determination.
