Ivan pulled back and cupped Everly's cheeks, gently caressing both sides with his thumb. "Everything is fine... now. I woke up and couldn't find you anywhere. I searched almost the whole building, and there was still no sign of you, so I thought..."
Everly chuckled, already knowing what he was about to say. "You thought I had left you?" She finished his sentence for him with a teasing tone. "What? Is it because of those things Sokolov said?" She scoffed lightly, shaking her head.
Ivan sighed in relief and leaned forward, kissing her forehead. "Don't make me worry like that. I honestly don't know what I would have done if I couldn't find you."
