The maid nodded, knowing better than to argue. She was just an employee after all and had no say in whatever she wanted to do. "As you wish, miss. Give me a moment, please."
While the head maid went to fetch the ice cream, Everly wandered over to the kitchen table and sat down, still holding Hazel. The kitten purred softly, rubbing her head against Everly's chin, which made her giggle.
A few moments later, the maid returned with a large tub of ice cream, placing it down in front of Everly along with a spoon. "Here you go. I forgot to ask you what flavor you prefer, so I just got vanilla. But if you don't like it, I can take it back and get you your preferred one."
Everly's eyes lit up, almost sparkling, as she looked down at the tub of ice cream in front of her. She shook her head. "No, thank you. Vanilla is my favorite."
