Mr. Oleg felt like he had been suddenly put under a spell. "Yes, it's a takedown file. Every mafia boss has one. It's quite normal in the Mafia world. That file contains the names of people we have..." He cleared his throat. "Killed. People we plan to kill and people we just want to bring down, not kill."
Everly was already getting curious. The whole thing sounded absurd to her, and she really wanted to understand why the takedown file was even a thing. "What was the point of the file records, if you don't mind me asking?"
Mr. Oleg shrugged, glancing down at the file, then back at Everly. The look on his face already told Everly that he had no idea. "Even I don't see the point in it, but it's been a tradition in the mafia world for years. You could even kill a fellow mafia boss, and if the others see the name of the fellow mafia boss you killed, they would be unfazed. It's not really a big deal."
