Damien knocked on the door to his father's office and waited for permission to enter.
His father's response came through the door, "Come in."
He pushed open the heavy door with a stack of files balanced in his hands. His father had tasked him with a mountain of paperwork, and after hours of working, Damien had finally completed it all.
He placed the files on the desk in front of Mr. Sokolov, "I've finished signing the contract and checked all the auction funds. They're complete."
Mr. Sokolov nodded, barely glancing up from his own papers. "Very well," he muttered, "Do you remember that diamond Mr. Orlov recently acquired? I want it."
Damien leaned back, a puzzled expression on his face. "I thought Orlov announced he wouldn't be selling that diamond until further notice. How am I supposed to buy it from him if he isn't willing to sell?"
