Arkadi finished inserting the needle, sighing as he placed his hands on his hips. He watched the IV fluid drip steadily and nodded in satisfaction. "It's steady," he said, looking down at Ivan. "Now lie down so you don't ruin the flow."
Ivan scoffed but complied, laying back down on the bed. "If anything happens to me, you'll find yourself in the deepest, darkest pit in the pack h—" He paused, realizing his slip.
Everly, who was sitting next to him, raised an eyebrow. "Pack what?"
Ivan chuckled, immediately thinking of what to say to brush it off. "Nothing." He shook his head at how dumb that sounded. 'Nothing'? That was the worst answer he could've given. But at least Everly didn't ask any further questions.
