Sergei's head throbbed as he regained consciousness, the world around him blurry.
Their car was upside down, and he was trapped. Grunting in pain, he kicked at the door repeatedly, "Come on… damn it...open up…" Finally, with a groan and a loud creak, the door gave way and fell off.
Sergei slowly crawled out and as he staggered to his feet, holding his head, a sudden realization hit him. Ivan was still in the back seat.
His eyes widened in panic. "Sir! Ivan!" he called out, but there was no response. He hurried to the back window, peering in, but the interior was shrouded in darkness. The door was jammed, frustration surging through him as he pulled on the handle with all his might, but it wouldn't budge.
