Everly paced back and forth in the mansion's living room, her eyes frequently darting to the tall glass window. She bit the tips of her nails, sighing every few minutes.
Arkadi, lounging on the couch, took another bite from the bowl of popcorn in his hand while watching TV. But the sound of Everly's footsteps constantly interrupted his focus.
He sighed, setting the bowl down, and looking up at Everly. "Calm down, Everly. I don't know why you're so worried,"
Everly stopped pacing and turned to him with wide eyes. "Why shouldn't I be worried? Ivan and Ania said they were going to be back really quickly, but it's been more than an hour now!"
"Yes, but they could be stuck in traffic, or maybe they haven't gotten to the man yet, nobody knows. Have you tried calling their numbers? What exactly are you worried about?"
