Natalie's frown deepened and her brows furrowed in anger. "I'm going to have a talk with him," she said before standing up.
Damien reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her back down. "No," His voice sounded strained, but he forced himself to speak with a much firmer tone. "You can't. It will only make things worse for me. You don't want to see me even more hurt than I already am, do you?"
"But Damien, he can't keep doing this to you. The last time I complained about it, he said that you two were just 'training', but this.." she scoffed and pointed at Damien's wounds. "This doesn't look like training to me."
"Your father has a major issue, and if my dad finds out that I'm marrying a guy whose father beats him up like this, what do you think he's going to do?" She stared down at him, "He's going to cut off all ties and deal with your father instantly."
