Ivan smiled, a mixture of pride and amusement on his face. "I'm glad you like it. I thought I'd surprise you."
Everly moved on to the pancakes next, her fork slicing through the fluffy stack drizzled with golden maple syrup and topped with a medley of fresh berries. She took a bite, and the light, airy texture combined with the sweetness of the syrup and the tartness of the berries made her let out a small, involuntary moan of pleasure.
"These pancakes are amazing," she said, her voice filled with genuine appreciation. "They're so light and fluffy. How did you do it?"
Ivan chuckled, enjoying her reaction. "My mother showed me how to make it, even though I was never interested. But I guess it kind of got stuck in my head," he winked. "I'm glad you like them."
