"Well," she said, clicking her tongue. "Nothing much," she answered to Ameera.
"I am all ears if you want to share. We sisters look out for each other after all." She patted Luiza's back and wrapped her arms around her while munching on the muffin.
"I am fine." She gave a smile that did not meet the eye. They were at the peak of winter, enjoying the snow.
The day went by as fast as it had come. It was late afternoon, and Luiza and Ameera were still at the window, chit-chatting about little things, when Luzia felt a soft paw scratch on her back.
"Um?" She turned behind and saw a mitten licking its paw. Ameera's voice died down. "It seems to have a letter behind its back," Ameera whispered, and Luiza agreed. She carefully brought her hands forward and caressed Mitten's shiny black fur. She took the cat in between her arms and took the envelope from its back.
