"How's Rayleigh?" Ane called her daughter, who is currently at the airport and planning to go to New York.
After hearing about what happened to Isabelle from Madelyn, Ane had decided to go to New York instantly. She had already spent ten days there for Isabelle's engagement party the previous year, and it seemed she would need to take another leave.
Even when her superiors didn't really grant her the leave, Ane couldn't care less. Her daughter was far more important, and she wanted to be close to Isabelle. If her company decided to fire her, so be it—she was already old enough, and Isabelle was no longer fully dependent on her.
"She's okay now," Isabelle reassured. "Dad Anthony has already performed the surgery, and she'll be fine."
"I'll be on a plane in two hours to New York," Ane explained.
"Mae? Will you be okay though? What about your job?" Isabelle sounded worried.
