Rayleigh carefully poured the NaCl solution over her wounded hand, with the help of two other GPs and nurses standing by. She needed to thoroughly clean the wound and determine whether the knife had damaged any bones or nerves.
Before the doctor could make a move to remove the knife, Rayleigh stopped him. "I'm a doctor, and even though this might sound obnoxious, I'm one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the USA. So you'll listen to my instructions," she stated firmly.
Rayleigh couldn't afford any missteps. One wrong move and her left hand could be irreparably damaged, and she couldn't risk losing the use of her other hand, even if it's not the dominant one. One of the general practitioners still seemed skeptical about Rayleigh's claims.
