Isabelle and Rayleigh were enjoying their first week as a couple, savouring every moment of their newfound bliss. Rayleigh had allowed her fiancée to be the one who arranged and decorated their shared condo, even after all of Isabelle's belongings had been sent to New York. Still, Isabelle occasionally asked Rayleigh to go shopping at Target, and Rayleigh readily agreed to whatever her fiancee wanted.
"Ray, let's have a dinner at the house this Saturday night," Madelyn, Rayleigh's mother, called her daughter.
"Oh, okay," Rayleigh replied, a hint of uncertainty in her voice.
"Your dad wants to have a family photo session, so wear a formal gown or dress," Madelyn instructed. "And Ray, no pants this time!"
"Why?" Rayleigh whined to her mother.
"Didn't I give birth to a female? What's so wrong with me wanting a family picture with you in a dress?" Madelyn said it sternly.
