Josephine watched as Edina got closer. It took everything in her not to recoil at the sight of that woman. She felt her facial muscles tighten. Why had she come here? What was she hoping to achieve? Josephine noticed that Edina glanced at Dominique and attempted a shaky smile. Josephine fought the scowl that wanted to contort her facial muscles.
She looked up at her husband to see that his gaze was fixed on Edina. If there had been any sign of sympathy on his face, she would have probably been furious with him. There was no sympathy. No. His eyes were narrowed as he regarded his brother's sister. There was a twitch in his jaw… was that annoyance in his eyes? Josephine could not tell. She was happy either way because it reassured her that her husband would not give in to whatever Edina wanted. That was only fair. They had not received that when they had needed it.
