The next morning, there was one event covering almost every page of the papers: the coronation.
"King Dominique Ascends the Throne Amidst Joyful Celebration," one paper had in large letters on the front page.
Its article started by saying, "The royal cathedral welcomed dignitaries, nobility, and citizens alike to honour the ascension of a monarch whose life has been a testament to resilience and dedication."
No one was going to argue with that—not King Dominique, not his children and wife, and certainly not his people. It had taken patience for him to get here, and it had taken resilience to keep his head high when most of the world thought him guilty of a crime he hadn't committed.
"After years in exile," the article went on to say, "King Dominique returned to claim the throne, a symbol of renewal and hope for the kingdom."
