Adela wondered if she should take it as a good sign that the sun was shining in Myria when she got off the plane and into the car. It was still chilly, but the snow had mostly melted. She was sure that flowers would begin to bloom soon. Birds were already more active, and she could have sworn that on the way from the airport, she saw a deer in the woods and a dog chasing a rabbit… or was it a hare? Her mind was wandering again.
Where was she? Ah… yes… good signs. The actual good sign might not have been the weather outside the car but her mother not being her usual overly critical self. But maybe it was just because she was waiting for when they were truly alone. They had the driver with them, and this car did not seem to have privacy screens between the cockpit and the back seats.
