Lucia wasn't sure if she should be glad that Michael was not where she had left him when she came back from her shower. She decided it would be slightly awkward if he were there, and she was not one to yearn for discomfort. But she could not help but wonder how he looked with his eyes glazed from sleep. A shiver crawled up her spine, and she could not help but giggle and skip on the spot as it rode through her.
A knock sounded on her door, and a slight wave of shame quelled the internal current that made her every nerve want to jump. She turned her head in the direction of the sound.
"Miss," she heard the housekeeper's voice say, "breakfast is ready, and sir is waiting for you."
"All right," Lucia called back as she made for the door. "I'm coming out now!"
