A little over a week had passed since Lucia had gone to Vershia and now she had left again. Her sister was having a formal engagement party, and they were going to celebrate Christmas with her there.
"What are you thinking about?" Michael asked her, and she turned her head to look at him.
"I'm just marvelling at how quickly time seems to be flying," she said while noting that he had closed the lid of his laptop.
She surmised that he was done with his work.
"Or maybe just how quickly everything is happening," she amended.
Everything from her engagement to her father being king again, including Adela's engagement… Everything had happened so quickly. So much had been packed into not that much of a time frame. It was like someone had waved a wand, and the bad things her family had been complaining about had gone away… Okay, maybe not everything. Her mother was still controlling, but at least the people she liked to control were moving away from her.
