The helicopter landed in an empty field, and a convoy of cars was waiting to pick up Prince Michael of Vershia and his fiancée. They were not the only things waiting to receive them; there were reporters being kept away by some police officers. Michael got out first and helped Lucia out. Once both her pumps were on the ground, Michael put his hand on the small of her back and guided her to the waiting car.
She got in first, and then Michael got in after her. She looked at him as soon as the door was closed. The generic smile that said nothing was melting away. She put her hand over his, and he looked at her and smiled.
"Are you okay?" he asked her.
She smiled, "I was about to ask you that."
"I've been doing this for as long as I can remember," he reminded her. "I know you avoid these kinds of things."
"I'm fine," she assured him as she squeezed his hand gently.
He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles.
