Lucia sat next to her sister as they watched the Queen's PA personally interview the women who might become their personal assistants. Lucia sat in silence, listening and paying attention. They were seated to the side in such a way that the PA and the woman she was interviewing were facing each other, while the Handhoff sisters were seated diagonally, so they could not only see their potential employee but also the Queen's PA, as clear observers. They were allowed to ask questions if they felt inclined. Lucia was not going to ask this woman any questions. She was tired.
She had a pen in her hand, making notes on her copy of the CV of the woman being interviewed. However, she was not taking notes on the woman being interviewed now. She didn't like her. She didn't want her as her assistant. She was pompous, and Lucia had everything against that. She didn't want a personality she would inevitably clash with working as her closest confidant and arranging her life.
