Chapter 123 - Seatbelt

Michael asked Lucia to walk with him after dinner. Lucia was a little bemused, but she agreed and went to get her coat. They took a detour to Michael's apartment, which Lucia had not realised until now was so close to hers. It was just around the corner. It would be easy to slip into his apartment without being spotted. She looked around his apartment and went to the shelf that held books and other knick-knacks. She saw a portable chess set and pulled it out. It looked a little used but was otherwise well kept. She had given it to him the Christmas she was thirteen.
