"Wake up, my lady," Michael said softly, and Lucia stirred.
She snuggled closer into him, her face burying into his neck.
"Hey, wake up," he said as he shook her gently.
Her eyes opened; they were unfocused and a little confused. She blinked and looked around, lifting her head from his shoulder. She looked at him, and he could see the love replace the confusion, followed by awareness.
"Where are we?" she asked as she glanced out of the window.
"We are ten minutes from the palace," Michael told her.
Lucia nodded gratefully. She reached into her purse and pulled out her compact case. She was not looking to powder her face, but she needed to check if she looked fine. She opened the case with Michael looking at her in amusement and inspected her face. She looked fine and was grateful for that. She tucked a few strands of hair behind her ears and snapped the case shut. She put the compact case back into her purse and looked up, gasping.
