Days into their mission, the Starlancer picked up a signal. It was faint and erratic, but it was unmistakably artificial.
"We've got something," Mary said, her fingers flying over the controls. "It's a distress signal, originating from a nearby star system."
Wil's eyes narrowed. "Let's investigate. Set a course for the signal's source."
The ship altered its trajectory, heading towards the star system. As they approached, they saw a planet with a dense, swirling atmosphere. The distress signal was coming from the surface.
"Prepare for landing," Wil ordered. "Stay alert. We don't know what's down there."
The Starlancer descended through the thick atmosphere, breaking through the clouds to reveal a landscape of jagged mountains and deep canyons. They followed the signal to a large, metallic structure partially buried in the rock.
