Thou who does not look back from where things started, trips along their way.
---
One surprising and amazing thing about the huge guy was how his head did not completely come off, for the ax's blade halted mid-cut.
"Oi, oi, oi! How is he still moving?! What a fucking lunatic!"
Half of his strength was depleted by the wound inflicted on him, but his reserved strength allowed him to tightly grip the ax and fight against Baron's strength for the possession of the weapon.
"Let... go, freak!"
With his mangled head, he jerked and headbutted Baron, which caused the latter to lose his grip strength, finally taking back possession of his ax.
"Fruah!"
Absolute menace washed over Baron's face upon a near-miss swing came flying to his face. He felt his whole body freezing, but the last-minute mark of the remaining time reminded him that they needed to end their enemy, thus lending him the energy to get back up once again and try for the last time.
"Oriahh!"
Yet another full swing wasted the huge brother's strength after Baron went low for a tackle, pushing his enemy with all his might and remaining stamina that he had.
"Fall, motherfucker!"
Onto the bed where Mildred died, Baron tackles the huge brother down. Its termite-infested wooden bed could not support all the weight it had been given, thus snapping all at once and crumbling at the fall.
"Berret! Anyone! Finish him while I hold him off!"
At that moment, Baron wondered how things would have been if Wil had been with them from the moment he arrived to help. Surely, things would have been different, and they would not be having the hardest time of their lives.
Something heavy pounded on Baron's back. It was the bloodied hand of the huge brother, smacking him.
"Argh! Come on! Damn it! I can't hold him for long!"
He was hurrying Berret but he does not know the full picture of how badly wounded Berret was with multiple broken ribs and a limping arm. Moreover, he was still recovering from being strangled and almost killed.
"Just a few more seconds!" Berret exclaimed as he was crawling with the replenished energy. "I'm giving it my best to move!"
"You better be 'cause I feel like dying here! Argh!"
Berret just needed to get near the crumbled bed to spring on the ground and gave himself a lift, hopping a little and clumsily landing beside Baron, at the feet of Mildred.
"I'm sacrificing a lot for this! This better be worth all the pain!"
[Remaining time: 30 Seconds]
For the last moment came a glimmer of hope to their eyes, screaming as his hands held a knife in his hand. Berret unknowingly formed a smile on his face and then turned into the most homicidal maniac. How his hand flung while equipped with his kitchen knife maliciously and relentlessly stabbed the huge brother in his face.
On the other hand, a shining beacon of hope that Wil turned out to be at the last seconds of their hunt, Wil kicked the ax away out of the huge brother's hand and his hands fell deeply towards his enemy's struggling head.
"Let's put an end to this!"
All three men, screaming like mad men under the flickering bulb as they put their lives on the line against the terrifying strength of their last enemy that transcends any physical prowess helped each other through the engulfing challenge of the night.
"You're done for now!"
"Finish him!"
"Orahhh!"
[Remaining Time: 2 Seconds]
[Congratulations! You have completed the task on time!]
"Hah! Hah! Fucking hell! Finally."
All three of them collapsed everywhere around Mildred while little pieces of the huge guy's head fell onto the dead's stomach. Baron, Berret, and Wil simultaneously let out a deep sigh of relief, surrendering themselves to exhaustion and staring blankly at the flickering light bulb.
"I'm so fucking tired now that the adrenaline rush is gone."
"Ugh! This is the worst position in my life! And it fucking stinks so bad!"
"Hush! We are finally going back!"
Look at these men, Mary spoke through the intercom system installed in her Techfly but the three were too tired to listen to her. Soon after, Mary felt the chilling sensation she had for a while to completely disappear. She had one of the most relieved sighs in her life.
"Ah, oh, I'm disappearing again!"
The transfer began sooner than expected. From Mary to Baron, Berret, and Wil, they were recalled back to the Room where their wounds be they minor or dangerous were healed instantaneously.
Even after getting healed and replenished with energy, the three of them could still feel the lingering tiredness and pain that the night engraved on their whole bodies.
"So what now?" Baron asked, glad to have survived. He was given another chance to see his daughter. "Do we go home now?"
"Our performance will be graded and given EXP, which we will use to level up."
Wil just can't leave anyone wondering about something important. So, sharing his knowledge, and what he knows about the Room was just a common thing to do in his opinion. And he would hate it too if he was the one being left out.
[Shall we begin with the evaluation?]
"It's starting."
As usual, Berret was silent. However, he was not in his usual guise of being invisible. This time he was just standing there with his arms crossed.
