Chapter 40 - Belltown night

Under the starry sky, Aiwen wandered along the small road in the town. After going around in a circle, he found that he had circled back to the small square!

"Damn it, I've never been here before, I don't even know where the meeting hall is!" Only then did Ivan remember that the killing spree made his mind a little confused!

"Forget it, I'd better go to the teleportation hall over there first!" Although Aiwen didn't know the specific layout of the town, the arcane light shining in the sky in the north told him that the teleportation hall must be there!

There were still a few lone monsters wandering around along the way, but they were all eliminated by Aiwen's sword!

Soon, Aiwen walked to the place he was looking for: the teleportation circle that Saloras mentioned before!

This is a golden building. Ivan doubts whether it is really all made of gold. The roof is also capped with purple transparent crystal, and the arcane light shines directly into the sky from above.

A protective device was obviously placed in front of the door of the teleportation hall, because Ivan saw a translucent light shield standing in front of the door, blocking the monsters that kept coming forward.

Ivan circled around the corner of the teleportation hall, and behind it was a skylight made of crystal. Ivan leaned close to his ear...

A voice came from the hall, which seemed to be an older ereda:

"How long will it take to establish a connection with Mac'Aree!?"

"Sir, we are already opening up the space nodes as quickly as possible, but it still takes a long time!" Another person replied, his voice was even younger!

"It must be done as soon as possible! The energy of the barrier outside has been almost exhausted. We are not magicians familiar with fighting. If the monsters from outside are allowed to come in, everyone in the house will be dead!" the old wizard shouted.

"Sir, now there is bad news and good news!" Another female Ereda spoke.

The old mage seemed a little tired: "Let's talk about the bad news first! I'm afraid there is no good news to be happy about here!"

"Okay, I just discovered that the protective barrier outside has been almost destroyed by monsters! After calculation, it will be completely destroyed in about a quarter of an hour!" the female Ereida said with a trembling voice.

"How is it possible? Destroy the barrier? Are they desperate? What's the good news?"

"The good news is that we have increased the energy supply to the portal, and the portal can be opened in one direction in two quarters of an hour!"

"So with just the few of us, we have to resist the monsters outside for a full quarter of an hour?!"

"I'm afraid that's the case..."

The teleportation hall fell into silence, as everyone seemed to be praying for their next fate.

Ivan is hiding in the corner. There are more and more monsters outside, and the barrier at the door is getting darker and darker!

"When the barrier breaks down, I will resist those monsters, and you can take the opportunity to escape..." The old mage can't think of any other way!

Ivan stopped hiding when he heard this, rushed out and jumped directly to the place where the monsters were densest, letting out a roar!

A group of monsters that were attacking the barrier with all their strength were suddenly unable to react, but Aiwen would not show mercy and directly cut all the monsters close to him into two with a whirlwind!

Thanks to Master Spade inscribing the Ice Edge Rune on the Dawn Sword, Ivan can face many enemies with ease. When the sword slashes on him, it not only causes a terrifying wound, but also more importantly. It is the power of the Ice Edge Rune that reduces its speed in all aspects!

With superb combat skills and the power to destroy everything, Ivan wants to be an efficient meat grinder to send all the enemies facing him into the abyss of death!

"Huh..." After cutting off the last monster's head, Ivan knocked on the transparent barrier with his sword. He felt that the power contained in the barrier was already very weak, so Ivan smashed it to pieces with a sword!

"Is there anyone there?" Ivan pushed the door open, and what greeted him was a big fireball!

With many days of fighting experience, Alvin knew that he could not avoid this fireball in such a narrow doorway!

In an instant, Ivan held the long sword on his back in his hand and slashed it at the blazing fireball that was coming instantly!

Obviously the mage who cast the fireball was not very good at fire magic. The fireball looked big and fast, but it was very loose. Ivan split it open with a single sword blow, causing sparks to scatter!

Only then did the people in the house notice that it was not a monster!

"Sir, what's coming in is not a monster!!" Ivan noticed the Eredar woman wearing a blue magic robe whispering.

"But he also looks different from us..." said the man on the right of the old mage.

"I'm sorry for breaking your barrier, but I do have good intentions!" Ivan had to say that he had no intention of harming anyone.

"I'm sorry warrior, my two apprentices were frightened tonight!" The old mage finally spoke.

The three people climbed down slowly: "In order to survive, they even climbed onto the bookcase!"

After sorting out his clothes, the old mage said: "I am Morton, the mage in charge of the teleportation hall in Bell Town. Thank you very much for the warrior's help to us!" The three people immediately bowed to Ivan to thank him!

Ivan helped the old mage up: "No one can stand by and watch the monster destroy the town! This is what I have to do!"

"My companions are protecting the townspeople in the meeting hall. If possible, Mr. Morton can go with me!" Ivan hoped that the three of them could lead him.

"Of course!" Morton turned back to the two apprentices and said, "Recharge the outer barrier, and let's go to the meeting hall with this warrior!"

When Ivan and his party arrived at the meeting hall, Captain Wallen had already led the townspeople to repel the monsters. The monster corpses piled at the door showed that it was a very fierce battle!

In the wide hall, Ivan was talking with Gad, the mayor of Bell Town.

"Mr. Gard, when did these monsters start attacking the town?" Ivan asked.

"I'm not very sure about the specific time, but it was almost after nightfall!" Mayor Gard recalled.

The two people asked and answered questions, and Alvin also gained a detailed understanding of this attack.

He let out a long sigh: "Maybe this attack is just the beginning!" Ivan guessed with a frown.

"Anyway, I'm very grateful to Mr. Irvine and the other two warriors for their selfless help!" The citizens of Bell Town can only survive tonight because of their help!

Under the kindness of Mayor Gard, Alvin and several others ate the unique food of Bell Town.

Ivan could finally lie on the bed and sleep, but he still couldn't sleep: Everywhere he went, the void seemed to follow, which made him very worried. The wider the void spread, the more it meant the destruction of Argus. It will come sooner!
