Chapter 33 - Daggers of greed

The grass crackles under Cipher's weight with each slow, deliberate step, the sound eerily loud in the otherwise silent air. His eyes, dull and lifeless, seem almost vacant as he nears the rusted dagger lodged deep into the earth, its once-sharp blade now coated with patches of dirt and corrosion.

The air around it feels heavy, as if time itself clings to the weapon. Cipher's senses are unnaturally drawn to the dagger, his body moving forward on instinct, compelled by a force he doesn't fully understand. The closer he gets, the more the world around him blurs, his focus consumed entirely by it.

"Cipher!" Ricka calls out.

"Leave him." Elga chimes in, stopping him from disturbing Cipher's trans.

"What's happening?" Avidia turns to her.

"I don't know." She says, not understanding this feeling coming over her, this feeling as if she stops him to whatever he's moving too it might change the whole course of the world, and maybe the predicted outcome, she's still trying to figure out herself.

"How don't you know?" Avidia says anger seemring in her tone. "What if something bad happens to Cipher?"

"I can see every outcome." She mutters, her eyes still fixated on Cipher, hearing his steps rippling through the air. "Paths laid before me in the form of visions, and each day I am given a new set of paths, so I combine each of them to form one I can use to guide me through the day, as a walking stick so I won't bump or hit anything, since I am still blind. However, today I couldn't find a way to combine them, so I remember each one of them, and not once have I seen this playing out."

"So he's forging a new path?" Avidia questions.

"That's right." she shakes her head.

"So a rusted dagger can sprout a new path?" Ricka says dumbfounded.

"A dagger?" Elga questions. "Is that what he's moving to?"

"Yes." They both answer.

"That only means it has to be on of those daggers."She ponders to herself. "Watch closely and tell me everything that happens." She instructs to them.

"Got it." Ricka changes his gaze back to Cipher so does Avidia.

Cipher hands finally grasp the helt of the sword and immediately he feels as though he's being sucked into a void. As Cipher's hand tightens around the hilt of the rusted dagger, the world around him vanishes in an instant.

The ground beneath his feet gives way, and the familiar weight of his body is replaced with a sensation of being suspended in an endless void.

"Here again.."

A woman stands tall, her purple hair flowing down her back like a cascade of darkness, shimmering faintly in the dim light. Her eyes, glowing an unnatural shade of violet, lock onto Cipher's her serious face contrasting with the chuclke she just let out.

"Gluttony.."

"Yes, bit we have bigger things to worry about-" just as she finished people appear all around them from a bright white light that disperses instantly upon arriving.

The mid of the circle was empty and nobody bother to look at Cipher and Gluttony only focussed on the empty middle as a golden light illuminate the darkness.

"What's happening?" Cipher inquires.

"They're all after the dagger of greed." Gluttony answers. "As soon as it arrives, run."
