Chapter 1 - the beginning of the unknown

it was a cold summer night of 2014, I was 8 years old at the time. me and my family were visiting my grandparents in the village because there was a holiday and we planned a huge feast. the drive on the way there was tortures, I had been awake for 67 hours by the time we got in the car and started to drive. I was anxious I felt dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous. for one and a half hours i stared out of the window trying not to throw up, i counted every tree I saw, 629. this number still rings in my ears every time I think of that accursed day. we got to the village safely and had a lot of "fun", if you can call sitting down at the table listening to your drunk relatives discuss politics for 5 hours fun. my dad got drunk so we decided to stay the night at my grandparents, I was lucky and got the lone bad that stood in the corner of my uncle's room, the bed was uncomfortable I could hear it screeching every time i moved, so I chose a pose and stuck to it, it should've been about 3am though I could not fall asleep, I lay with my chest up counting the dark spots on the sealing. I felt cold air hitting my arm from the side, the window was slightly ajar. I wanted to get up to close it but realized something truly terrifying, I could not move a muscle, I was paralyzed from the neck down.

I broke out in a cold sweat, my heart began to race, my pulse was going through the roof and i could hear the blood rushing to my ears. door opened at the end of the room, the room was massive 20 meters in length at least. i saw a figure i instantly recognized. My grandma, 63 year old frail women. before i could open my mouth to speak she asked,

"why aren't you asleep?!"

the tone in her voice shook me.

I told her

" I can not fall asleep"

she disregarded my answer and asked again although now with a much deeper much more demonic voice.

"WHY AREN'T YOU ASLEEP?!"

I was shaken, did not know what was happening and I was terrified. witnessing such a thing shook my 8 year old self to his core. so I closed my eyes and as I opened them I saw a figure of my grandma standing on my chest, her weight was crushing me under her, I could not breathe nor could I move. it was terrifying, though what I saw after was much, much worse and to this day it is etched into my memory. i looked at my grandma's face only to see darkness, total voide, an inescapable dark cloud. with a screech that sounded like the hymn of death itself she screamed one last time

"GO TO SLEEP!!"

before I jumped up. everything had gone back to normal. my grandma was nowhere to be found and the door at the end of the room had been locked.
