Selene closed her eyes, opening them again just to make sure she wasn't imagining things.
"Dad?" Selene mumbled to her father, who looked devastated.
"Sweetheart, when did you come back?" Mr. Rogers asked, pulling her still body in a hug.
"What happened to you? Why do you look like this?" Selene asked him, stunned at how he looked like a homeless man.
"It's a long story Selene, can we have some coffee," Her father suggested, avoiding looking her in the eye.
Shame overcame him when he looked at the daughter he ousted out of his life.
Selene hated her father for what she did to her, but seeing him like that made her forget her purpose for coming to town.
"Am all ears dad, tell me everything that happened," Selene asked as they settled at the diner nearby.
