Blakely Arcas had been gradually recovering from her recent bout of the flu, but her energy was still low, and she found herself spending more time in bed than she would have liked. So when her older brother Brody, who was home from college for the weekend, knocked on her door early Saturday morning, she wasn't sure what to expect.
"Hey, Blake, you up?" Brody called through the door, his voice filled with a familiar, easygoing warmth.
Blakely, still half-asleep, mumbled something incoherent and pulled the blankets tighter around herself. But Brody wasn't one to be easily deterred. The door creaked open, and he poked his head in, grinning widely.
"Rise and shine, sleepyhead! I've got a plan for us today."
Blakely blinked at him, groggy and slightly confused. "What kind of plan?"
