Only difference is, is that when you die, it's not akin to actual death, and instead immensly less painful. But, with the official tournement championship rules, pain receptors were turned all the way up, as it was believed that it could enhance participants performances.
Being exclusive to only ancient weaponry, up until the musket era, it was said that it truly did revive the legitamate dying arts of ancient weapon mastery, that weren't just on display on cinema screens and such. With clubs all around the coming together and implementing special weapon arts, it could be said that it was like a ressurgance of ancient times.
With athletes being used a promotional material, coaches, key influential figures in todays age and society. It was the future. In addition, they made banks if they won the World Championship.
But our story doesn't begin with an illustrious athlete, or an ancient weapon arts family being revivied. It starts with a young woman named Aloisa Francis, a recent graduate of UTS, gaining a Bachelor of Commerce who tries her luck out for the very first time.
In the wonderful city of Sydney, both a chaotic and beautiful place at the same time, depending on where you lived. The central hub of Australia if you will, besides obviously Canberra existing as the capital. Within these busy streets, numerous individuals of various ethnicities roamed about, going about their daily lives. Some had it tough, while others were flourishing. It was the city of dreams, Sydney that was.
Within the bustling suburb of Chatswood, Aloisa could be seen dressed in a dark blue business suit running to catch the train. Descending from asian ethnicity, she was half Chinese, a quarter English, and a quarter German. An unlikely unity of nations if you will. With her long straight brown hair, violet eyes, relaxed western features that were complimented with her large asian featured eyes, it could be said that she could've been a model if she wanted to, but she wanted to do something with her brain, not her looks.
Standing at an impressive 179 cm, Aloisa had an athletic build that was both slim, yet muscular, it could be said that she was the pure imodiment of fitness goals. Boarding the train just on time to travel to Silverwater, the place where her interview was said to take place. After adjusted her atire, straightening out all the creases that had been made, she glanced down at her watch, noting the time of 8:25 AM, before tucking it back under her sleeve.
. . . . . .
She did a complete double take and cursed aloud, surprising all the other passangers around her, as she checked her watch again. Time was ticking as the train stopped and picked up more passangers at another stop, this time picking up a vast abundance of students who were enthusiastically chatting amongst themselves.
"I tell you man, our Shadow Roos are going to lose against the Red Robins."
"But we still hold Dale Cooper though right?"
"I thought he was sold off last season to the Colan Harbingers."
"So who do we even have left for this season for offense."
"Reshenda?"
"But she's a bruiser, not a tank."
"Oh no, I think we're going to fall further down the Oceania rankings again."
"How about our very own Silver Wolves guys?"
There was a collective sigh, as some of the boys slumped over.
"Don't even talk about those guys."
"They've never made it passed 9th place, ever since a decade ago."
"Don't even start."
But there were a few that stood proudly grinning like fools. "Too bad for you suckers, we support the French team, 'le coq gaulois'", proclaimed one of the proud boys.
In response a chorus of boos could be heard amongst the students as they disapproved of the choice. Aloisa took notes of this, trying to compile the information that she had gotten from this little conversation. She had already done her research of this club before, and noted that the furthest it had ever gotten within the state tournements, sitting at 9th place, before falling all the way down to 2,065th place.
The speakers inside the carriage blared to life as an energetic voice called out over the intercom, interrupting her thoughts."Next stop, Silverwater. Please allow those who need to get off to queue near the doors, and do be careful of the gap."
Once again she glanced at her watch, taking note of how it was 8:43 AM, leaving her with ten minutes to dash to her interview. Stepping off the train, she made a mad dash towards the exit of the subway, swiping her card at the terminal.
Most people were extremely shocked and surprised, but it was nothing more than a look over and then not bother any further, as people had a myriad of their own problems.
Dashing down the street, she weaved in between the pedestrians and other walker, keeping a tight grip on her handbag. With every step it brought her close to her destination. Rounding the corner of the street, she could see it. A large four story building with a faded out neon sign that read Silver Wolves. The building was in a decent condition, but the placement of it was tucked away in a small housing area.
Taking a deep breathe in, she pushed open the glass doors, entering into the small dimmly lit recepetion area that was very much designed like a reception for a massage parlour, with various dotted plants around the room, wooden spaced walls, and a small area for the receptionist to sit to greet visitors.
On the far side of the room were several comfy chairs aligned against the walls. In the corner was a small table, stacked with old magazines and newspapers. Aloisa's eyes readjusted to the dim lighting of the reception to see a short girl seated behind a small bench, meticilously typing away. Dressed in a blue dress that complimented her blonde curly hair, the girls large blue eyes looked up from the screen that she was typing on to see Aloisa. She was stunned for a whole few seconds before she regained her composure. With a friendly wave and smile she stood up and greeted herself. "Hullo there, how can I help you today?"
Seeing the woman stand, Aloisa's sharp eyes managed to see a name tag stuck to her dress that read Catherine. "I'm here for the interview for the position of assistant manager."
"Ah, it's you." A surprised look emerged on Catherine's face as she glanced at the clock. She soflty clapped her hands in excitement as she turned around and beckoned to Aloisa."Come on, I'll take you to the Chairman's office."
With a turn, Catherine walked down the long hallway skipping along, with Aloisa in tow, looking at the various facilities that were on display on the first level. There was a gym, where various people were working out. There were showers and an accompanying cafeteria, albeit small, along with a decent sized lounge. As she glanced around, she noticed at the end of the hallway there was a small elevator that looked like it was maintained to a decent standard.
"Sorry about all this. We're getting it refirbished soon", apologized Catherine, her eyes staring at Aloisa as the elevator opened up with a loud ding.
"Not a problem." She shrugged it off, as she was only here to see if she could get work. She didn't really care about its condition unless she actually started working. "How many other people are applying for this role?" she asked out of curiosity.
As they stepped into the elevator, and watched the doors close, Catherine let out a bright smile. "Just you."
"Only me?"
"Yep!"
". . . . . No one else, whatsoever?"
"Mhmm." Catherine let out a bright grin, as the elevator reached the fourth floor with a loud ding. The elevator doors opened to reveal a large office space, filled with empty chairs, computers and the like. Catherine briskly walked in the direction of the one of the offices explaining. "This floor is dedicated to the office personell, ranging from accounting, to match planning, registering, etc. Although a majority of our staff are away, the boss is still in."
At the end of the large office space tucked away in the corner was a small walled office. On the door, it read, Reed Everith. Catherine strolled up to the door, and gave a small knock, with Aloisa in tow, slightly nervous, but full of confidence at the same time. "Come in", answered a low voice.
As Catherine opened the door she stated out loud, "Aloisa Francis, here for the interview."
Steppng inside, she looked around the room, taking note of how small it was. With the shutters angled downwards, the sunlight hit the floor, illuminating the room, barely enough to be able to see. "Welcome Aloisa, take a seat."
In the middle of the room, there was a singular chair, and in front of it, a dark oak desk. Seated at this gorgeous looking desk was a middle aged man, with striking silver hair, blue eyes and a large body build. The grey suit he donned, practically clung to him, as his sharp features and eyes focused on the now seated Aloisa. "See tell me Aloisa Francis, disciple of the Framnoth Family, why should I hire you?"
