Sirius replied firmly, "Understood, Boss," his voice laced with respect.
After that, Ethan ended the call and remained still for a moment.
Sirius walked into the lounge and approached Zoye, who was engrossed in her phone games. "Excuse me, Miss. Could you tell me where Ms. Bennet is?" he inquired.
Zoye glanced up and noticed Sirius standing before her, his striking yet frosty demeanor evident.
She assessed him from head to toe and asked, "Are you the new bodyguard assigned to Luna?"
Sirius simply nodded in response. Zoye felt uneasy under his piercing gaze and the chilling aura he exuded, causing her to shiver slightly.
She rubbed her hands together and replied, "She's in the restroom."
After she said that, she glanced at her phone and got back to her games.
Sirius, having heard her, settled in the lounge, waiting for Zara to come back.
Meanwhile, Zara stepped into the open lounge in the hotel's backyard to clear her mind. Just then, a small figure darted toward her from the side.
Always aware of her surroundings, Zara quickly sidestepped to avoid colliding with the boy as he raced toward the pond.
However, as he ran, he lost his footing on the pebbles by the pond and almost tumbled in.
When the woman sprinting behind him noticed what was happening, she shouted, "Liam, look out!!"
Without wasting a second, she dashed toward the pond. Just as Liam was about to tumble in, someone grabbed the back of his collar, yanked him back, and set him down safely on the ground.
Liam, eyes wide with disbelief, couldn't figure out how he was still dry and standing instead of soaked or worse.
Even though the pond was only a few meters deep, it was still pretty deep for little kids like him, who were just five or six years old.
As the woman reached him, she knelt down and wrapped her arms around him, tears streaming down her face as she hugged him tightly.
Watching this unfold, Zara quietly turned and walked back into the interior lounge without a word.
Holding the boy close, the woman scanned him from head to toe and gently asked, "Are you okay, sweetheart? Did you get hurt anywhere?"
The little boy snapped out of his daze during this moment.
As he regained his senses, he looked around, searching for the person who had just rescued him. Unfortunately, all he could see were a few people scattered around, enjoying their meals.
Realizing that the hero must have left, he calmly replied, "Mom, I'm fine. I'm not hurt."
The woman, dressed elegantly, wore a warm expression that radiated kindness despite her recent tears. She had on a modest, knee-length dress made of light, airy fabric in a soft pastel shade, likely a pale lavender, which complemented her simply styled hair that fell just below her shoulders.
The woman gazed at her son and repeated her question, "Are you truly okay?"
The little boy met his mother's worried expression and replied, nodding his head, "Yes, Mom. I'm fine!"
Then he inquired, "Mom, did you see the sister who just saved me?"
It was only after her son spoke that the woman realized she hadn't even expressed her gratitude to the girl who had rescued him.
She scanned the open lounge but couldn't find anyone resembling the girl who had been there during her frantic rush.
"Liam, it looks like we missed your hero," the woman said, her face a bit downcast as she thought about how she lost the person who saved her son.
As she pondered, she glanced at the boy, who also wore a sad expression. Noticing his face, she encouraged him, saying, "Don't worry, Liam. We can find her. Let's check the surveillance footage from the open lounge and ask the manager about her."
When he heard his mom's plan, the boy's eyes sparkled with excitement, and he nodded enthusiastically, a big smile spreading across his face.
Meanwhile, as Zara made her way back to the interior lounge, her phone buzzed.
As she glanced at the caller ID and saw it was Ethan, she answered, "Hello."
"Hi, Lia. How's everything going at the place?" Ethan asked from the other end.
Zara wasn't caught off guard by his question. After all, the guy who came with her was Ethan's guy, so it made sense that Sirius would keep him in the loop.
Not thinking too much about it, she replied, "Yeah, it's fine."
"I heard you're at Clover Hill. I'm actually here too. If you need anything, just give me a call, okay?" Ethan's voice was steady and reassuring.
Zara was taken aback when she realized he was at Clover Hill as well. Even though Ethan had mentioned he'd be out of the city today, she never expected him to be in the same spot as her.
Ethan noticed that Zara wasn't responding, and with a calm, deep tone, he remarked, "It seems even fate is on our side after all these years. Make sure to enjoy your time with your guy when you see him next, okay?"
Zara couldn't help but roll her eyes at Ethan's playful banter.
As she continued walking, she inquired, "Is that it?"
With a smile, Ethan thought fondly of her and replied, "I have plenty more to share with my fiancée, but since I can tell she's feeling tired, I won't interrupt her rest. I'll give you a call later."
Once Ethan wrapped up his conversation, Zara didn't stick around and hung up the call as she noticed two people waiting for her in the lounge.
As she strolled past, Sirius glanced her way and said, "Ms. Bennet, here are the keys."
He handed the keys over to Zara.
She accepted them and replied, "If you've got other things to do, feel free to go, Sirius."
Sirius gave her a nod and said, "Just call me if you need anything, Ms. Bennet."
Zara acknowledged him with a nod and headed to the elevator with Zoye to their room.
Meanwhile, Ethan, seeing the call had ended, smiled at his phone and muttered, "Looks like I've still got a long way to go."
Mason, who had come to the garden to check on Ethan, was taken aback by the cheerful grin on his face.
