Rosy couldn't help but think that the girl was quite plain, not wearing any flashy or designer outfits that would suggest she could be the future daughter-in-law of the Anderson family.
Who would have imagined that the future daughter-in-law of the Andersons would be so unassuming, even opting for a mask and casual attire when she went out?
Had she known this, even with a thousand lives, she wouldn't have dared to make any plans involving that girl. Doing so would have been like inviting trouble. It seems she's found herself in that predicament now.
Feeling Noah's intense stare upon her, Rosy felt a chill run down her spine, as if she was suffocating.
Mr. Davis, now fully aware of what was happening, wore the same look as Mr. Warren, both ready to do anything to seek forgiveness.
He stepped forward, all his pain hidden beneath the surface, and pleaded with his hands clasped together, "Mr. Anderson, please, I'm begging you, don't hurt my daughter. She's our only child."
At that moment, Carter, who had been standing off to the side, charged in and delivered a brutal kick that sent Mr. Davis crashing to the ground, blood spilling from his mouth due to his already serious injuries.
"You've got just one daughter? Huh...Well, guess what? Our boss has just one fiancée too," Carter shot back angrily at Mr. Davis, who was sprawled on the ground, clutching his chest in agony.
"No, no, no! That's not what I meant at all. It's really not okay for my daughter to be involved in this. But they're just kids and nothing serious has happened, right?" Mr. Davis tried to calm the situation with his gentle words.
Carter rolled his eyes in frustration at Mr. Davis's comments. "Kids?" He shot a disgusted glance at Rosy, taking in every detail.
Noah, fed up with the conversation, turned to Ethan and said, "Didn't you say you'd help me vent my anger? Is this what you meant?"
Ethan, with a calm expression, replied, "I didn't tell you to come along."
Noah clenched his jaw in anger and muttered under his breath as he turned away, "Jack, just wait!" He scolded Jack within himself for not handling this better.
Jack was lounging in the living room of the Mayledge Mansion, just waiting for a late-night snack, when he suddenly sneezed, "Aaachhuuuuu...!"
He grabbed a tissue from the side and wiped his nose, just as he heard someone say, "Someone's scolding you, Third Young Master."
Turning around, Jack spotted Ava, who was bringing him his snacks with a cheerful grin. "Who would even think of scolding me, Ava?" he replied, puffing out his chest with a smirk.
Ava chuckled at Jack's playful, childlike demeanor, reminiscent of his younger days.
She set the tray down on the coffee table and said, "If you need anything else, just let me know, Third Young Master."
"You can take a break now, Ava. And thanks for the snack," Jack said, smiling calmly.
Ava returned the smile and headed back to the kitchen so that she could go and relax.
Jack happily munched on his late-night snack while jamming to tunes on his AirPods. He was so into the music that he didn't notice someone coming down the stairs.
Zara, curious about what was in the kitchen, spotted her brother enjoying his food and music.
The Adam brothers were pretty strict about their diets and always focused on staying fit. Even the other three would push Jack, who often felt too lazy to work out, to join in and get used to exercising.
They just couldn't shake off his childish habits, like munching away in the middle of the night or pulling off some wild stunts for kicks, even though he was now running the Adam family business.
Meanwhile, the other Adam brothers were still pretty strict about their fitness.
As Zara spotted her third brother enjoying his food and jamming to some tunes, a smile crept onto her face as she made her way over to Jack.
Jack was so lost in his music and snacks that he didn't even notice her sneaking up on him.
Zara quietly approached and gave Jack a gentle tap on the shoulder, then shifted a bit to the side.
When Jack felt the tap, he turned but saw no one there, so he just went back to his munching.
Zara couldn't help but smile at her brother, who was completely oblivious to everything around him, totally focused on his snacks.
"Cough... it seems like someone is sneaking snacks without anyone noticing," Zara teased with a playful cough.
Jack was startled by the unexpected sound coming from behind him.
Usually, he was quite aware of his surroundings. But being alone in the living room of his own home, he had let his guard down and was blissfully munching on his treats.
So, when Zara coughed, he jumped up from the couch in fright, sending his snacks flying everywhere.
After processing her words and realizing who it was, Jack quickly patted his chest to steady his racing heart and said with a frown, "Lia, you really gave me a scare!"
Zara noticed the frightened expression on Jack's face, and a smile spread across her own.
She approached him with that same smile and remarked, "I didn't think you'd still be afraid of this, Third Brother."
"Come on, Lia, now you're teasing me too," Jack replied glumly, glancing at his sister.
With a playful grin, Zara strolled toward the kitchen and replied, "You can't hold me responsible for this. You should point fingers at the one who taught me all these tricks."
As she spoke, she turned back to Jack, raising her eyebrows and smiling, as if to say, "Isn't that true, Brother?"
Jack felt a flush of embarrassment as he realized what his sister was implying. Isn't she implying that she picked up all those things from him during their childhood?
Seeing her brother's sheepish expression, Zara couldn't help but smile as she headed into the kitchen.
Jack's expression shifted to one of panic when he noticed his sister walking into the kitchen. "Lia...," he called out, sprinting toward her.
Zara paused at the sound of her brother's voice, turning to see him rushing toward her with a worried look.
Perplexed by his sudden urgency, Zara raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's going on, Brother?" as Jack came to a halt in front of her.
Jack, still anxious, inquired, "Where are you off to, Lia?"
