During their conversation, Zara produced a small bottle containing pills and handed it to Eleanor. "Grandma Eleanor, this is my gift for you."
Eleanor glanced at Zara and responded with a smile, pushing the bottle back towards her. "Why did you go through the trouble of getting me a gift, Lia? It's not necessary. Your presence is more than enough."
"It's the least I can do," Zara replied, placing the pill container on the table and shifter her gaze to Butler Beau. "Uncle Beau, please give it to Grandma once a day after she has a meal."
"Understood, Miss Zara," Butler Beau acknowledged, making a note and nodding with a smile.
Thomas glanced at the bottle and expressed his feelings of being wronged and disheartened, "Lia, it's not fair. You only cared about your Grandma. Then what about this old man?" he questioned, feeling wronged.
Zara shifted her gaze from Thomas to Ethan, silently conveying her confusion.
Ethan, understanding her unspoken inquiry, responded in a composed manner, "Grandpa, the pills that you are taking in these few days are what Zara gave you."
Realization dawned upon Thomas as he muttered, "Ohh... so that's how it is. Why didn't you inform me earlier?!" Frustration now directed towards his grandson.
Ethan maintained his composure as he met Thomas' gaze and calmly replied, "You never asked about it."
Zara glanced at Thomas and Eleanor before saying, "I'll make sure to restock the pills or have Assistant David send them if they're used."
"Of course, Lia. Feel free to drop by whenever you have time. Anyway Ethan won't be around, so if you're here, we'll be so happy," Eleanor chimed in cheerfully.
Eleanor is not stupid, if Zara came back often, it's sure that her grandson would follow her and come home often. So, it would make the house more lively.
Zara simply nodded with a faint smile, not uttering a word.
David was taken aback by the tablets Zara handed to Butler Beau.
Were these the same tablets she had provided at the hospital?!
Weren't they supposed to be worth millions, even for a small quantity of tablets?
Then, how come, Miss Zara seems to have bottles and bottles of tablets?
Even though she is the eldest daughter of the Adam family, she may have more money. However, those tablets cannot be purchased with money alone. Because those tablets are not sold in bottles like that.
They are mostly sold in small boxes that may contain five or ten tablets, and no more than that.
Mr. Ethan had been searching for a long time just to get a stack of ten tablets for his grandparents, but then the auctioneer announced that the tablets were no longer being auctioned.
Despite having similar suspicions, Ethan had some vague ideas about how Zara obtained those tablets. As a result, he did not appear as shocked as David did.
Eleanor thought about something and suggested, "Let's have Lia check out the house. It's been ages since she last visited. Let her see if everything is still the same."
"Absolutely, it's been over ten years. Lia, go ahead and take a look at the house," Thomas added cheerfully.
Looking at Ethan, Eleanor instructed, "Ethan, why don't you give Lia a tour? It's only polite to welcome our guest properly," she stated matter-of-factly.
Thomas raised an eyebrow, realizing his wife's ulterior motive. She was simply giving their grandson a chance to spend time with his fiancée.
Throughout the discussion, it's clear that Zara isn't really interested in Ethan. So instead of waiting for their grandson to make a move, they should lend him a hand in getting closer to Zara.
In agreement, Thomas nodded and added, "Yes, Ethan, don't leave Lia alone. Show her everything."
Following their suggestion, Eleanor chimed in, "We'll go and check out the kitchen."
As instructed, the elderly couple ushered Butler Beau and David to do some work, leaving the living room for Zara and Ethan to have some space.
At first, Zara couldn't quite grasp their intentions, but now she understands what they're trying to accomplish.
Despite everything, Zara maintained a serene expression on her face. Ethan glanced at her and uttered, "Zara, come with me."
Upon hearing his words, Zara met his gaze and gave a nod. Being in someone else's abode as a guest, she refrained from checking her phone and simply followed Ethan.
Ascending to the second floor, Ethan led Zara to the study room.
Opening the door, Ethan gestured for Zara to enter. Upon entering the room, Zara glanced at Ethan, silently asking for permission to check in the room.
Ethan caught her signal and gave her a nod. With Ethan's approval, Zara stepped into the room.
Looking at the room, Zara's attention was immediately captivated by the extensive bookshelf that housed an array of books, piquing her curiosity.
Ethan was well aware that Zara's favorite pastime since childhood had always been reading rare books.
Whenever he stumbled upon one, he would make sure to collect it as a token of remembrance for Zara. He never imagined that the one for whom he had collected these for would actually use them now.
As she browsed through the books, one particular book grabbed her attention.
The 'Codex Leicester by Leonardo da Vinci' is quite a renowned book.
Despite there being some copies available, they are not the same as the original.
Zara had been eager to read this book for a while. However, since she couldn't find the authentic version, her interest waned.
Now, spotting the genuine book on the shelf, Zara turned to Ethan and asked casually, "Where did you find this book?" while pointing at it.
Ethan glanced at the book, Zara pointed out, "I acquired it from an auction a few years back." He then turned to Zara and inquired, "Interested in having it? It's yours if you want."
"Then I'll pay you the auction price," Zara calmly replied, gazing at Ethan.
A smile formed on Ethan's face as he approached Zara, gradually closing the distance between them.
Perplexed, Zara glanced at Ethan and questioned, "What exactly are you attempting to do?"
With the screen already open, the sunbeams streaming through the window landed on Zara's face, causing her to radiate and sparkle.
Ethan instinctively raised his hand, gently tucked her hair behind her ear, and moved to cup her cheek feeling the velvety smoothness and the comforting warmth emanating from her skin.
Zara felt the urge to push him away looking at the way he is behaving.
However, before she could react, Ethan calmly spoke with a flirtatious smile, "Everything here belongs to you. Why bother paying for it? There's no need to ask. If there's anything you like, feel free to take it as you please."
Zara with her cold eyes, suddenly said with her lips curled, "Does it even include Mr. Ethan's belongings."
Without even thinking for a moment, Ethan said with a smile, "If Mr. Ethan belongs to Miss Zara, then everything of mine belongs to you."
Actually, Zara just wanted to backfire his words, but who would have thought that Mr. Ethan who was feared by everyone and was said to be ruthless could be so shameless?
Upon hearing his reply, Zara simply rolled her eyes, brushed off his hand, and coolly stated as she moved to take the book, "Well, thank you for the book. I'll give it back once I'm done reading it."
