Both Aryan and Veena needed to acknowledge that they never had that many monsters at once. During the night time when they were fighting those Monsters they never thought those many Monsters would attack them.
Fortunately, their teacher is also present at the place and in the end, Sam uses his power to make those Monsters run away from that place.
The next day,
Aryan is currently approaching a group of leopard Monsters. Aryan wanted to make sure that he came close to those Monsters without alerting them.
Because of the dense forest he is unable to tell how many of these monsters are present in that place. One thing he can tell is that those Monsters are also outside of his observation range.
Because of this, he needs to be close to them to use his observation technique to observe how many Monsters are present there.
