Josh leaned against a bookshelf with his arms folded and a slightly troubled expression on his face, after rummaging through the library what he found only increased his stress 'Now I'm screwed, how the hell will I make it back to the sanctum in time. First I have to solve Sif'ur's missing children case and find the source of the "Foul Arcanum". I'm so screwed' Josh's internal dialogue did not last long as Timothy dropped a pile of books on top of the reading table situated in the center of the room.
"These are some of her most valued books which she kept locked in her bedroom, I only got access to them now because well you know anyway here is the stuff you requested. Uhm did you find anything of use?" Timothy cocked up his brow, Josh nodded and moved away from the bookshelf he was leaning on slowly approaching the books on the table.
"It appears so, but it isn't enough because I need more proof, and no offense but I do not want to spend more time in this city.."Josh explained with his voice trailing off at the end. Timothy pursed his lips not sure whether or not he should ask him when were they going to start hunting monsters. Deciding to keep his thoughts to himself and observe Josh spoke up
"Moirai I have concluded that your Nana knewe of the bizarre and somehow ended up doing a ritual in which she summoned one of the Weavers and became its host but remember one thing, if I am right then that means you are being monitored by them and I do not know why but I'm sure that you are somewhat special," Josh explained
'Special enough to have the hags monitor your growth? Who are you?' Josh thought to himself staring directly at Timothy without batting an eye, feeling the intensity of Josh's gaze Timothy smiled awkwardly and his right hand moved to scratch the back of his head.
Moving his eyes away from Timothy Josh's attention fell on the books before him, studying their appearance one by one and dismissing them without a touch, and just when he was about to stop his eye caught familiar symbols on one of the books buried underneath the pile, quickly moving in to touch it Josh grabbed the gold covered book with silver symbols engraved on it and it was surprising light despite its heavy appearance.
"T-this can't be, Veilstones? How?" Josh's voice was almost like a whisper his eyes widening in surprise and his whole body trembled slightly.
'What the heck is going on here?' Josh screamed to himself but sadly the answer he was asking for never came and instead, all he got was a "Veil-what now?" From Timothy. Timothy's face failed to mask his confusion and he stared at Josh like he was staring at a madman. With a subtle glance over from Josh Timothy immediately straightened up and looked away, meanwhile, Josh calmed himself down but the book was still in his grasp. Letting out a heavy sigh his free hand moved to rub his nose bridge
"Veilstones, The forgotten tongue of Arcanum. All around the world it is known by different names some call it Voidborn Inscriptions, Eldritch marks, Arcane sigils, Abyssal Emblems, and many more but the most common name for them are Runic markings or just Runes whereas in the organization, they are called Veilstones. I cannot reveal much to you but I can say that this is the language that invoked a power known as Runeweave, very few people in history have managed to get their hands on it and many died trying so I'm guessing that you now understand why I was so shocked?" Josh asked after explaining and Timothy who did not understand a thing gently nodded .
"I'm guessing I should leave you alone to study the contents in the book?" Josh subconsciously nodded at the question and Timothy gladly backed away leaving the man to go insane alone. 'What's so special about that book despite the fact that it is coated in gold?' Timothy thought but his question did not go unheard because his trusted ring, Richard decided to to answer.
' you are right there is nothing special about that book besides the fact that IT IS LITERALLY COVERED IN VEILSTONES YOU GOD FORSAKEN DIMWIT!' Richard bellowed and Timothy clutched his ears feeling as if his head was about to burst .
' Shit are you trying to kill me Richard!!?' Timothy asked with a loud scream of his own, But all he got was inaudible rambling from Richard who was most likely cursing him
'What's the deal with you, I was just asking there was absolutely no need for attempted murder. ' Timothy complained staring at the ring on his finger, Richard's rambling finally stopped and he let out a heavy sigh
' You do not understand boy, Veilstones is not just a simple matter it's a language that goes beyond the constraints of time, space and matter, piercing through the dimensional walls up until it reaches the 'source' the beginning and the end of everything, putting it in simpler terms Veilstones is the language of creation. A language that was spoken by the 'source' and passed down to the Guardians, The Erkmun, who then passed it down to the old Gods and the old Gods equipped their champions with it but they had also tampered with the version they gave their champions thus turning them evil and bringing about the end of the old gods. So do not take this matter lightly, but what I'm most worried about is how does he know about it? He might be a powerful konqueror but that means nothing if the matter concerns Runeweaving.' Richard explained and judging by his tone Timothy understood the urgency of the matter and he finally started taking it serious.
Ever since Richard bonded with him he had been constantly flooded with knowledge about his world and how it worked and also he had been taught more about the mysterious world he was already apart of. Timothy's personality had also been changing and it was all thanks to the ring on his finger, Timothy's curiosity of the bizarre had been increasing day by day and now Josh had told him that they were going to investigate such matters and to say that he was excited was an understatement.
Since they had a mind link Richard could easily access Timothy's mind and see what he was thinking of, but they had both mutually agreed that they should never do that without the other's consent because it would hurt the fragile bond they currently had, for Timothy, Richard was like an elder brother who knew everything and to Richard Timothy was and always will be his.....
