Chapter 12 - Chapter XI

"Hey, Daiki. Can you turn around for me?"

"Sure."

Kinda weird to ask but I do it anyway. I keep my eyes out the window. But little did Renia know, there was a clear reflection. After she saw me look away, she started to get undressed. The moment I noticed this, however, I immediately reverted my eyes to the ground. If I would've known she was changing, I would've asked to leave. Asking now would mean that I looked, and I don't want her to get the idea that I'm a pervert. Because I'm not.

I continue to stand there, eyes pinned on the floor. The sound of cloth rubbing against her skin, the floor, and her bed all make for an awkward situation for me. Well, there isn't much I can do other than stand and wait. So I wait for her to finish up which surprisingly doesn't take long. She walks up to me and taps me on the shoulder. I assume she's notifying me that I'm good to turn around, so that's what I do.

"What do you think? Do I look good?"

Holy shit. She's hot in that outfit. The black thigh highs, a slightly long white skirt, with a loose fitting white shirt tucked in. Looks like something I'd see a girl wearing back in Japan, guess the styles aren't all that different. Or maybe she gets special clothes made for her because she's the daughter of the king. Either way, it complements her body extremely well. Her long goldish-blond hair makes it look even more perfect.

"Yeah, you do..."

That's the first time a girl has left me speechless in a long time. A real achievement for her, you have my congrats. Renia holds her hand out, and gives me a look that says, "Let's get going". I take her hand we both walk out of her room together. As she opened the door, two guards were standing next to her doors. They look at me confused, an I give them the same look back. They close the door behind us as we walk down the hall hand in hand.

The place looks amazing. Paintings, plants that I've never seen before, and the design are things that stand out to me almost immediately. This must be what royalty is like, and it's fucking awesome. Along with the walls and ceiling design, the carpet is also intriguing. It looks like it's made of a very soft fabric, and the designs on the outer edge are intricate. More than they need to be in my opinion. But then again, I'm still a stranger to this world. I have no clue what this world's customs, rules, or religions even are.

"This place... It means a lot to me."

Well, that's a strange way to start a conversation. I'd assume she does, it's her home.

"Do you miss your home, Daiki?"

Oh. That's... a question. Now that I come to think about it, I don't. This place seems like it has so much more to offer me than Japan did. I know I never traveled a lot, so I missed a lot like the Americas. A place where everyone's dream could come true. But overall, I'd have to say I don't.

"Not really."

"I see... Well, I can promise you that you'll love it here!"

I chuckle a little. She sure knows how to bring up the mood. That makes me like her even more. God, this is going to be a complicated relationship. I can't let that get in the way of what have to do. The flame gave me a mission, and assuming the flame is what has given me the dream, I should follow it. I put on a smile, going along with the mood she set.

"I bet you will."

She chuckles as we continue walking. The guards we pass all give me the same look the ones in Renia's room did. I hope that they don't get the wrong idea. Us walking around, holding hands, pointing things out to each other, it seems like we're already really close. After a bit of walking, we make our way to what seems like a main hall after we go down a flight of stairs. It looks beautiful. A huge dome roof with stained glass holding a wonderful-looking chandelier above us.

Along with all the fancy decor everywhere, there's a large marble statue of a person pointing his sword upwards towards the sun on the glass. Pretty interesting if I do say so myself. This person also has a crown on his head, along with a long flowing robe, which reminds me of Renia's hair... No, stop it. You just met her, let time take the wheel, not me. Anyway, I believe that's her father. Going off the fact that he has a crown. If this is him, he's one hell of an imposing person.

Renia shows me every nook and cranny of the first floor. Why she didn't do that with the second? I don't have a clue. I assume it's because of privacy reasons, and I can respect that. After the detour, he takes me to the garden. According to her, it's her favorite place here, she spends hours a day here. Not only enjoying it but also taking care of it. She seems excited to show me, so I'll keep in mind of her effort. I never was a flower person.

I say that I never was, but that was until she opened the door to said garden. The view I had wasn't anything I could've ever imagined. It's like nature's purest creations all put in space. Flowers I've never seen before, trees providing shade on the walkways made of stone. I can only imagine the amount of money people would pay to see this. I should consider myself lucky to experience something like this. I look over at Renia, and she looks at home, the look in her eyes is one of complete peace. I wish I could replicate that look...

"Well, that's everything important in the palace. Wanna go see the city now?

"Yeah... I do."

I stay looking at the garden a bit longer before I follow Renia. I assume to the entrance of the palace. We walk a little faster, but still slow enough to enjoy the walk. With it still being early in the morning, we can take our time here and still have plenty left over. Speaking of time, how the hell do they keep track of it here? Eh, that's a question I can ask later. For now, I can judge off the sun. Maybe I'll ask as we walk through the city.
