Serina watched the scene unfold through the computer with an intrigued expression. She had instructed Aldric to act as arrogantly confident as he could, but she hadn't expected him to be so good at it.
"Ten out of ten performance," Serina commended through the tiny earpiece placed in Aldric's ear.
"Yeah, well, it won't really matter if I get my ass beat," Aldric muttered, watching the psychotic Awakened recover from the momentary shock as he began to approach him.
"You'll be fine... Just remember, he has had grievous wounds in the rib area and lower left leg. Exploit these and try to kill him as fast as you can. You need to show them as low an effort in doing so as possible," Serina instructed.
"Kill? You didn't say anything about killing."
Aldric had taken lives before, but the Expanse was one thing—a lawless trial for which he couldn't be held accountable for his murders, and was even rewarded for them.
